Looks like the 1.7 iroks are a good tire to have but, that means you need 1.7 or 1.9 wheels. Thats how they get ya!

It does look like a fun truck to build. I really like to wrench on these rc's.

I am like a 39/"8 year old"

Enjoy you builds it will be fun to see how they drive. I am not a leaf fan. But I have never had a leafer.

Heck, I hate three link.

i got the 1.7 iroks right when they first came out. i dont think they are the new compound though. gonna stretch them over some plastic hilift wheels just to get an idea for setup, maybe soak them in wd40 for awhile...

They are not, The 1.7s are still X2SS. I am really digging these 1.9 MTZs, they are the the same X2SS but they feel really sticky.

Got some more work done.. Installed front helper springs and it sits better now. The shocks are also internal spring to help. Its still much stiffer feeling than any coilover setup that Im used to. This is my first leaf truck.

I mounted my shift servo in the back like youngversion did but, I think mine is cooler..lol. I used one of the short threaded tubes from an axial 3link setup to bolt it through one of the rear leaf spring mounts along with a plastic servo mount.

I mounted it under my carbon fiber ESC mount plate..it also bolts to this plate to help support it and it flips open/closed for easy servo access.

side view.. I dont think it will interfere with anything.. thats a full size servo too. Now I can bend up custom linkage to go to the trans and i'll be able to run a full interior when i get that far. Free'd up a lot of space.

That is similar to what I am planning. I REALLY hate it when I find I missed a part on my orders. I had 2 boxes with everything for this build and just discovered that I had Pin Drives on my 1.9s instead of Hex Drives. Now I have to wait a week for RC4WD to get around to shipping (or damn near it) and then wait a week to receive it. Sure wish RPP could carry these things. So for now, stock wheels and tires are going on it.

for my linkage, I used a straight rod from axial leftovers and a straight end & a 45* end and it bolted up nicely. seems to move back and forth smoothly and it fits right between where I wanted it to and out of the way. I'll know if its going to work for sure or not when it has power to it.

Man.. this thing is fun.
