| Re: Trail Finder 2 Chit-Chat Took them out of the rear and left them in the front, but I think I am going to fully remove them or cut them in half then stretch them. Once I have the electronics mounte d with a battery mounted, I will throw the body on it and get a better idea of what I need.

i sure like them. on this thing they hit the shackle mounts just as the spring gets really flat, acting like little bumpstops. 3 of my shocks have the ballend bushings coming out. i reversed the shackles up front with some bruiser leaf mounts and some longer than stock shackles same as 1BadJeepBruiser in his tf2 thread. i like it but it brings the wheel right into the fender halfway through steering travel when the wheel is stuffed. i'll maybe trim the body a bit and either mount the body back or move the axle forward. going to prolly throw long helper leafs on the front and rear, but this shows how nice and flexy it is with the reverse shackle and rooster springs. its flexing on its own weight here, i just balanced it on the bic. hopefully my goat 3s isnt burned up from the real bad driveline bind and motor shutdown from timmys first time out. the motor is old style and i cant crack it open, so i unscrewed the top and shot corrosion x in it. sprayed both the servo and goat esc with the conformal coating. still need a 4ch futaba rx, winch, and shift servo. | |

I ran out of wire loom so all the cables are just zip tied. Did get the MTZs straightened out, they're a bitch to mount on the PRO10s because they are narrow and sooooooooo soft, so I had to remount a couple nd one 3 times. I was just running it in the house and I love the drivetrain, nice and quiet. With the 20T Crawlmaster and the TF2 in low gear, this thing creeps like a turtle and still respectful wheel speed. In high gear it really scoots. I may have to ease off the drag brake as I am getting these throttle off nose stands. Now if I can find a place warm enough to paint, I can get this ready to go. |

| Re: Trail Finder 2 Chit-Chat Steel Shooter Shackles Black Edition How are the shooter shackles? Same concept as the rooster mod pretty much? I was thinkin about pickin some of these up. Maybe switch to 90mm or 100mm shocks in front. |

how many shiny new 80's toyota pickups you guys see on the roads, let alone wheeling on the trails i've never seen them work, so im just speculatin' but to me those shooter shackles look like they would allow a ton of loose suspension play, and i would think that would be dangerous and sketchy. but again i dunno, they may be the bees knees. i got some chain links off mcmaster to work like the missing links on big timmy. all these would need is a bar brazed somewhere to keep them from over-extending. with some fuel tubing and maybe the chino mod i think it would work pretty dope. there isnt a ton of drop but enough for like 3/8 if you wanted it, links also have a little side play as well to allow the springs to tilt. imo they look pretty dern scale. |

The MTZs fit well. Now I just need an hour of snow free semi dry ground so I can run it hard and get a temp reading on the motor. I think I am geared right but want to check it. Need to do the same with my Wraith, I may be over geared there. |

I'm trying to think of a theme for mine. I don't want just a normal pickup. I was thinking maybe like a park ranger or something. Put some police lights on top of the cab. I'll have to figure out some decals of some sort. Or a Texas game warden...I dunno. |

| Re: Trail Finder 2 Chit-Chat Oh man, I wish I had thought of that. Well, I have done the faded/rusted look and I have done the shiny/new look. I do like the idea of some sort of law enforcement truck. Border Patrol would be a tough paint job but a game warden would be pretty easy. The insignia can be done on decal transfer film or clear sticker film. |

Yeah a Texas game warden is just a forest green truck with the TX Parks & Wildlife logos on it. It says game warden under that. I'd have to make a headache rack. Their lights are usually hidden in the grill and in the cab window. It would be easier to just get a light bar for the top but I bet chaotic could help with some strobes for the grill and tail lights.

Actually, after looking at them, the border patrol is a simple paint job.
