just be careful because the truggy ones wont fit. only the buggy ones fit. i ordered some hyper 7 truggy diffs and they were bigger and didnt even come close to fitting inside the housing.

I tried the Hyper 7 TQ diff and it was too big! Just kidding!!! But I was still panicked...Thanks Bart Bender and mjderstine! "It just drop[ed] in." I need a diff shim for the center outdrive, but that's not a real issue. Any cheap alternatives/diy options for diff shims?

Maybe it was different one I had that didn't fit. I still have them in a drawer taking up space How much shim do you need. Washers work if you need a thick one. |

I just purchased a new cruiser mad force (long wheelbase). I can mount the codes (IFW-162B) lunogo side and (IFW-142) the short side, without modifying anything? greetings. Last edited by marco70; 08-16-2013 at 08:51 AM.

Love all the info. But what would be the strongest diff and gear set for the mad force. I know people are putting 4000 watt 6s setups in savages flux's. Will the flux diff fit?

anyone know anything about these? they look like could be pretty usful. but for some reason i thought i read somewhere that they are 6mm shafts, which mean we would need to find 16x6 bearings. My MBX6 diffs use the same bearings, 16x8, the only difference I see is the 4 bolt battern for the gears (spur/ring)

Mugen mbx 5 6 or 7 diffs dont work. the pinion gear is shorter and the shaft wont have enough stick out for the drive shaft, if it is shimmed. Would of been cool because it has a 6mm pinion snout. Plus mad force gears will fit but the out drives are smaller going into the diff itself.

Bought a bunch of Nitro Circus Basher parts from Hobby King in hopes that they would fit. Well..... The ring gear bolt pattern is the same, but the gear diameter and spacing is different. I opened a housing up just a tiny bit and it slid in. I had to put 5 shims under it to bring it out enough to contact the pinion. The pinion is perfect. Typically you only need a shim or 3 for proper gear lash. The offset makes the diff/spool too wide for the housing to properly close. SO, there needs to be a little material removed from the housing behind the shims or from the face of the ring gear. On to the next part. The shafts looked like a direct fit. They are not. The top shaft is the stock long side. The middle one is a IFW162B I've had forever. The stub end is just that a stub. Only one bearing will fit and then the hex dose not quite line up for the pin. On to the the next part The hiem on the left is a Jammin/Ofna 6mm ballend. It has a 5mm-10/32 hole for some serious beef. The ends on the right are from the Basher. The ball is a 8mm but the hole is the same as the Ofna. They are pre threaded but when you screw in a 10/32 it will cut it's own threads and work just fine. That is a Revo end above the Ofna end by the way I had a lot of other stuff to order and try out but it was out of stock. The reason for all of this is the price. It is CHEAP. The quality seems to be high end too. Time to test it Last edited by Bart bender; 01-23-2014 at 05:59 PM. |

Anyone know if there is an alternative gear set that uses a 6mm pinion input? I've seen that people have had them cut down. How and who does this sort of thing if there isn't a gear set that can be used?
