Thumbs up Video!!

Here is a Video of Version 5.0 of the Super Steer in action.

Still in testing, nothing is setup.

Subtracted one of the gear boxes to speed it back up!
Now at only 22 to 1 gear and 3 revs per inch.

Remember now, steering is only an inch and a half, there's more then 2 inches of travel right now on the unit.

Run off a 5 cell nicad instead of a 3S lipo. So A little less than Half Voltage.

Can Your servo do this?!

Remember, Its not finished!!!!

BreakDown of the Power Seat Gearboxes:

Now that is what I have been waiting for. You are gonna have a lot of steering power with that motor, probably a few hundred watts worth. Are you going to use a cantilever to route the steering?

Whats the point of all that power if you are going to tear everything up trying to steer it?? Personaly I would want my servo to stall before parts start flying everywere, but cool none the less.

Well if its not enough... There's always BIGGER motors.

EVERY part of the steering System is going to be beef.

I had previously run a pull-pull bike cable setup but there is a lot of parasitic loss with that setup.

Thinking of something like the Wheely King setup.
I had that idea before the Chair was built, before the King was ever around!.

I think those are the only ways to harness that much power.

Yeah??

Well theres a few line's YOU DON'T MAKE if you can't steer.

I would rather tear a moab off the rim then not be able to steer.

Just because I have all that power, doesn't mean I need it.

And what am I going to tear up exactly? My knuckles will be 7013 aluminum that i will build myself to hold up to the strength.

Keep in mind, This rig is NOT a comp only rig.

Its built to go where you CAN'T.

Now after the WC is done, you have to start on a 2.2 WC

Default In Other News....

Tonight's top story!

Police and Investigators are still trying to figure out what has taken so long for any updates on the WheelChair.

Some Say it was on Vacation.

Others say it had fled town scared of being shown up by a Clodbuster...

But all of the allegations are false.

Eyewitness's on the scene say that earlier tonight, news came in about the New Scorpion Motor the WheelChair has been waiting patiently for months!

Behold! The Scorpion 3032-08a

The LARGEST most POWERFUL Brushless Outrunner ever to crawl rock!

Word has it, the motor will be here Friday or Saturday!

Thank You, Inov8tive Designs John Rob Holmes And Scorpion

These motors are still not available.

The Fluxring, (Outside that spins) is so long on these large motors, the vibrations of crawling at low speeds tears them up quick.

These are a new line that has a third bearing on the flux ring that should take care of vibration, wobble, and the bearing failure crawling at low speeds causes.

The new bearing should hold the fluxring firmly!

I have been selected as a beta tester for these new motors.
So sit back and hold on, because we are about to see some POWER!

Oh hell yeah! Now that is what I have been waiting for. No reason to have a big motor if it dont last. We have found out that stators 25mm or longer don't work on higher voltages, they just tear themselves apart with a quickness. I wonder how heavy it is, 8 ounces I will guess and a paltry 1200w continuos and over 2500 peak. That is enough to use on a gocart!

Yes that is funny, but not the way you are thinking.

Copperhead is built for comps.

If it doesn't do better then the Chair at the nationals, something is WRONG!

What I mean by it is built to go where you can't is this:

The chair is built for Severe Duty crawling.
Not a 5 minute course, with limited drop offs.

Has copper head taken any 40 foot drops lately?

Naw, delrin doesn't like that noise...

Anyone backed over it with an XJ?

I would love to see a clod follow 3.5 horsepower, (peak) up a dirt hill or through a mudbog.

Follow me down a trail some time.

I'll bring the tow strap!

When you can't steer to make it THROUGH an obstical, I promise I won't laugh.

The Laws of physics dictate that you CAN'T follow.

You just DON'T compare apples and oranges!

No more Delrin links?

Well then I must apologize, I did not know you were all metal.

I am not trying to put you or your rig down man...

I am glad to see someone else has a beefy rig...

I honestly don't read Clod builds so I don't know what you have built.

I know I don't like clods but thats just my personal opinion.

They thrash around on the rock like a rag doll, totally not like a real Crawler. More like a little girl throwing a fit.

One good crash on a front tire bends or breaks off the steering arm.
unless you have something you built yourself for a steering arm.

Being all metal, your weight would have to be up there as well.

I seen 666's decked out all metal Clod fall 2 feet at a comp and KILL a new style steering arm.

All that fancy hardware and RC4WD let him down.

If you plan on runnin with me, I hope you built something stronger.

The 'Chair Was designed and hand built to be one of the most durable, strongest crawlers out there.

If you can't steer, you can't go.
Super Steer Proved that to me long ago.

I'll see you Sunday in Kane Creek!

Oh... and for the mudbog... You might want to bring your Jumbo Swamp Kongs, and spare axle shafts...

Sound's like we could have alot of fun trying to one up each other, thats the kinda wheeling I like to do. Looking forward to beating the snot out of my rig after the nats are all said and done. I guess we have 2 different thought proccesses when it comes to building trucks. Yeah I have robot servos, but I only run them on 6 volts so they stay cool, I had 2 5 1/2 oz outrunners on 11.4 volts that would flip a 25lbs concreat block off the top of my rig, but I took them off and went back to lathes just because I don't see the need to over power my rig. I'm running all aluminum axles with cvd's, why put a huge motor on them only to be right back were I was with the stock axles I was running 2 months ago. I know that my components cannot be over powered by my servos or my motors, so I can dog it all I want and know in the back of my mind that the truck will hold together. I will admit it was very hard not ro run 7.4 volts to my servos for 400+ oz inch of torque, and it sucked having to make the right desision and ditch the brushless motors in favor of a motor that couldn't break my axles, but all in all I am in this to win, and broke trucks don't win comps.
Now after the nats are over I can throw the brushlesses in and we can move some bolders if you want, I got 11 oz worth of outrunner in my tool box. That sounds good to me.
