Naa,trim it down to match the blueprint in size...

it would look like it was made to fit,not just good enough.

I'm kinda with Rolly. Check out the 1:1 drawing and see how the cab is closer to the size of my shortened cab.

The two vertical lines represent the full CXT cab length.

How much longer is the cab compared to the scale drawings cab?

The real life CXT and drawings are the same, 18" long. The first rear axle will be all up on the back of the cab at this wheelbase.
I just don't think I wanna extend the wheelbase any further.

I change my vote. Cut the cab. I didn't notice the cab was that much larger. snip, snip, snip

I saw your 2.2 thread a while back. I have actually been itching for a new build and I wanted to do a scaleish flatbed hauler for my super sized wraith. After doing research and going between the proline topkick and f650, I came to realize where that cxt body is actually from and how rareish they are and how much they are worth. The only thing I dont kbow is what kind of material it is made of. I am not sure if the other posters are aware that this body isnt some proline pushout. That being said, I would leave the body whole. I would also go 6x6 to mitigate the length but you are the fabricator.

Very sweet rig. Last question: What is the width fender to fender?

I actually have debated going to the 6x6 setup. I am still leaning towards the shorter cab either way but who knows. I will really start making decisions when I get the tires in, which should be tomorrow. I am going to have another google image search session and check out some more tow rigs.

The cab is a hard plastic. This one is in rough shape but will get fixed correctly before I chop it back up. Widest point at front fenders is exactly 12".

12" wide makes it pretty much the best large truck body available. If I stumbled across one I would do a 6x6 2speed 500kv with an ar60 in the front spacers on the rears and 40 series wheels and tires. That would be so sick.

Yep, scales out to 2.2 wheels and tires and scales out to 1/10 rigs. Its big but it looks proportional next to another 1/10 rc, if that makes sense.

Playing with some options using my other CXT and its shorty cab.
Decisions. I think the shorty cab'd 6x6 looks best.
The 8x8 shorty is same wheelbase as the mocked up axled setup.

Good god man....
The photos before now just didn't give the over all impression. That's gonna be one crazy rig.

Thanks. The more I look at it the more I am liking the shorty cab 6x6 as the tow rig setup

I think you could pull off a killer 8x8 using the full cab. You may have to lengthen the chassis to get it right. Screw the drawing, just build your own version. I think if you used the full cab and did 8x8 you would have one really unique muti axle rig. Just my two cents.

Full cab gets my vote. Instead of lenthening the WB I would cut a semi circle in the rear cab and incorporate the fender well into the cab/door area.

I didnt read the whole thread so I am not sure what your intentions are... a drop axle at the cab with smaller dia tires would retain the 8x8 and lessen the intrusion into the cab also.

Nice build

Aight but I don't wanna go any longer on the WB as what I have mocked up now. See below.

Now you really got me thinking. I could stretch some 1.9 Mil Specs over the 2.2 wheels on the axle closest to the cab and do the rear of the cab fender mod. Still waiting on the 2.2 tires to show up.
