i am using 8/32 allthreds to make links and needing to know what ball ends thread into these.

if you could let me know what brand and part #

The Revo Rod Ends are the most popular.

Yeah i run jato's on my upper links and revos on the lower links. the jatos definetly help save link material haha

Okay CTK, got a question, do not know if you can answer it. Lipo or nimh batteries? I was wondering why I should run one over the other. Not trying to be a wise a**, just am curious if my nimh's that I have already will be good enough. Thanks. Oh and what about H.H. motors compared to Integy 55 turn? Thanks for ay help.

Well, Lipos give far more power, and alot longer run times, but if using the wrong lipo without a BEC-Battery eliminator circuit- or pushing more volts into your esc than it can handle, then you will fry your esc. Also, not all esc's have a lipo cutoff, so depending on your esc, you might want to get one. It basically just lets you know when your battery is drained to the point that it cannot continue. 3cell 11.1 lipos are whats commonly used, but only a select few esc's can handle it.

Now, motors, I dont have to say much. HH motors are far better than Integy motors (atleast in my opinion) They are so much smoother, and last alot longer than an integy.

Thanks, CTK! That was very helpful. I really didn't know why I should go to Lipos but that makes sense. I'll look into Holmes motors. Any suggestions on the model? I get a little confused at which one to use? Thanks.

Depends on the rig. Gonna run it on a shafty? 35-45T maybe even a 55T. Gonna run it in a scaler/Rockracer? anywhere from a 7-13T (I think thats the range-not very familiar with that low turn motors from holmes) Gonna run it on a berg? Dual 35-45T

CTK, Here's one for you...Looking for 4" shocks. Trying to find a set that have a thin diameter as the shocks seem to be my limiting factor in steering travel. What do you run and what oil??? What the heck does the oil matter anyway in such a slow rc truck?!?!

Well, The best 4" shock ive ever used was the losi crawler shocks. But, I dont run 4" shocks anymore, I now run the Traxxas Bigbore shocks.

Well, basically you oil your shocks to reduce friction between the shock piston, and the shock body. If you dont have any oil in your shocks, it causes the shocks to compress and decompress like poo, due to all the friction caused inside.

Why's that?? And I understand the lubrication issue, but my question was more on a damping issue. The heavier the oil, the slower the damping and vice versa. I guess I'm just trying to figure out where to start with oil and springs.

thanks great thread gives us newbies a chance:-P

i was wondering how to get into competiton crawling, i have an ax10 artr with a hitec HS-5645MG servo, tekin 55t crawling motor and tekin fx-r esc, mip drivelines, and stock everything else. i mounted a 2 cell lipo on the servo. what do i need to do to be competitive in a 2.2 class?

Look into the SWX chassis for the axial. You will also need a dig, some weight, and some new tires. Also investing in a good body wouldnt be a bad idea either. A pictures worth a thousand words, lets see some!
