Lol dizzle. I think that EMS would kill te MRC if the comp had a budget of say $250.

Do I get points for every $1 under $250? Woah, wrong thread for that... although you have a good point.

anyone that can pick up a MRC for $65 got a good deal. when i was quoting prices i was assuming new equipment, not what you might find used. that being said whatever you can get that your happy with for the price is the right thing. i would like to see an MRC and an EMS running the same course to see how they stack up. |

I guess I would need to modify my comp rules with the $250 limit. A $65 MCR roller is a killer deal. I was assuming new crawler base as well. Like Jebster I would also like to see a EMS and MRC run the same coarse. I'd like to see it in stock form and really see how far off they are from eachother. |

Monkeyracer. I have not done any research into the traxxas mini revo tranny but I've seen it posted before. What is it all about? I thought crawlers had special low geared transmissions but maybe it is done in the diffs. Can you enlighten me on why it is an upgrade?

I will have to check the gear ratio and how it compares to the MRC trans.

| finished mods
I will post pictures as soon as I get a chance to upload them. The mods on my maxstone 16 are finished and it is proving to be a contender. Fortunately i have not run into the same problems as others. I am running stock axles and no modifications or breakage problems with my c-hubs/knuckles. stock battery/motor/gearing/shafts. I still think i need a solution for too much negative caster on these rigs. probably just need some better drive shafts that won't bind. here is the list of my mods: 1) 2 Hitec 225 mighty mini servos for 4 wheel steering and Y servo adapter with reverser 2) custom longer adjustable aluminum drag links, increased tow out 3) integy lower high clearance links 4) Custom 4 link set-up 5) Pro Line Flat Iron Tires/Axial scx10 beed-lock wheels 6) 13mm wheel wideners (to accommodate the flat iron's) 7) Losi MRC adjustable aluminum shocks, installed inverted I think with these mods i will eventually be breaking some c-hubs but so far so good. I will leave it alone now till I break it. I'll try to get some video of it crawling up on you tube. |

I am using the Gmade 2.2 13mm wheel wideners. They brought each wheel out about a half inch. They increase the overall width of the crawler by an inch, which also helped to increase the rollover angle. I will post pics tonight after work. just a little info on total price of my build. maxstone for 85 bucks. all aftermarket parts had for $156. total investment so far $241

Sounds great spokes. Look forward to seeing the pictures. Wanted to post this up for us guys who are working on our steering. I don't know if it would work for our EMS but it on the MRC. Modding stock MRC for increased steering throw At some point I will attempt this mod. As for right now I'm just trying to get mine back together. |

I just got a exceed 16 for my girlfriends daughter. Seems like a pretty good starter truck. I pulled apart the axles and trans and greaseed all of it and changed over to the hard springs that came wit the kit. I must say that all this little hardware is alot diffrent then my 1/10 axial builds. I will keep reading this thread for ideas.

I have filed my knuckles to far and have snapped one on a roll over impact. I can get my stock bones to turn pretty far. Jebdizzle do your shinny knuckles allow for more steering?

| the aluminum knuckles are similar but can give more steering angle than the stock plastic knuckles. the real problem is that the stock dogbones can't handle as much steering as the knuckles. that is why i'm looking to try the dogbone mod toyotatrucks came across.

I'm right with you jebster. I'm not attempting the dog bone mod till I have an extra set. I'm pretty sure I will screw it up once or twice. Cool thing they come in packs of 4 for $10.
