I'd do mod on rear shocks because... so front and rear shocks were the same. What's the side profile of the rig look like as is? Last edited by tapped-out; 09-14-2016 at 06:45 PM. |

Bit of an update.... I finally blew out the stock dig, So of course I bought another? No freaking way thanks to y'all No I went out and had RPP send me another BRmini, But how could I get dual smashed minis to work with the RC4WD 4 channel Tx/Rx combo I had....By picking up a Futaba 4PLS and a R204GF-E ! SWEET !!! so Saturday was install day. My nitemare started when after smashing my 2 BRminis and wired in my castle BEC, using a trusty HH servo RX bypass adaptor. So I check and double check all connections, shrink wrap the esc's and plug things in. NOTHING!!! not one stinkin led...so grabbed the other larger RX with a foot long antenna trailing behind (OK 3"!) plugged it in ....and Perfect bind! so now I can read the 4PLS encyclopedia manuel (121pgs) , watched harley Futabas videos on the 4PL , and enjoyed a needed cocktail. Programming the 4PLS is unreal...EASY!!! So I set up all my needs for the two trucks I was running, It all looked perfect. So I stopped for dinner and a break. Went back, plugged everything in and... My servo worked great....neither motor turned, although the controller said they were.....MORE reading, watching...FINALLY figured out to adjust throttle subtrim, and VOILA......ONE motor, and one esc blinking! Really pissed now, getting late.....REREAD Holmes Instruction sheet, where JRH said I will have issues calibrating two esc's with common power connections, So decase, unsolder one leg, Calibration celebration finally!!! Resolder, quick plug together.....SUCCESS WOWSERS.......Time to go to bed! Wake up, go fishing out back, eat and bench time....still working perfect, BUT my RX (smaller ) was bad, called Tower Sunday , they said trash that one we are shipping replacement, shipper sent today, will have this weekend So I can finish this stuff and get some crawling in........ |

Gotta love that kind of night haha but at least you can pat yourself on the back for finally getting it. You'll really like the dual esc setup too. Let us know how you like it when you give it a go Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk |

Are those the same shocks front and rear or are those fronts longer? The skid should be angled slightly not flat with that chassis. If the fronts are longer then try swapping them to the rear.

Drop to the top hole above the ones you're in on the front ....... give the truck some forward rake to it. Shock cap mod? Swap shocks .... shock cap mod to the rear and normal cap front. Pitched like that I would think the trucks gonna be top heavy when trying to climb vertical. You'll always flip backwards and the front will never have a chance to settle down and actually bite in. Thanks for the insight ..... I can move the shocks no sweat. Why move modded shock out back ? I did it to clear my servo , but can do both or one. It actually does pretty well vertically, although I do want more front bite . Which springs /shocks should be softer front or rear ? I'm sooooo new to this and ALL HELP is greatly appreciated ! You wanna match the shocks like Tapped-out mentioned earlier, balance the truck out. Its probably easier then to just mod the rear caps. You wont have to swap oils or and could do it just taking the axle side of the shock off. Ill leave the shock/spring question to the big bore guys lol. Ive never used them for crawling so I dont know the feel for them or springs. The only experience Ive seen with them was on a buddys Viper chassis and he used 35wt with red (or brown some call them) miniT springs. Theyre the ones between those pinks and oranges you have. We were all new at one point ..... some of us still are |

I'm running 35 weight with red springs, set came with red, orange, and pink(softest) As I think , the fronts are probably longer due to the cap mod, I should start there. Hang up and Drive |

I went to pinks f/r and love it. They compress easy/quick and makes it planted for climbing. That will help lower the front too. But a few options to lower the front, go up a hole on top, go down a hole on bottom, shorter bent rod end on bottom, and if your shocks hit servo, you could move them to outside of the mounts. I run f/r on outside of the mounts. To me wider on the axle makes it more stable. |
