No rules against sides on a flatbed, just remember that you can't dovetail a Class 1 truck and that includes flatbeds, they can't taper in back like that picture.

That's what I was trying to figure out thanks. I was not going to taper the end like that. As long as it is a "flatbed" it can have some sides as long as it meets the specs. That clears up a lot for me.

Full custom body with drop bed -15

or

Custom cab with a (drop?) flat bed -9 (-12?)

Still needs the outer panels to look like a real truck. The bed is a stepside without the fenders. But does the truck need fenders to get the points? Does a hardbody with the outer fenders cut off and inner fenders added get the full body points?

Dang man, there's a lot going on there. It's really difficult to point a truck from one single picture (especially when it's not finished). Is there some kind of build thread on this rig with other pictures?

Only in Finnish here. But pictures are universal.

Mocking it up with cardboard. The end product will be mostly metal.

PS. Some other cool projects there too

One row cage. Tube bed. Spare tire mount. Sliders.

That's what I would do.

I think I need to see it when you're farther along, but it's looking like a full custom metal body to me. Post more pics when the panels are all metal.

I'm seeing a single row interior cage, welded rear shock mounts and a spare tire mount.

What would you give it? It's not a bed, it's a tube that reinforces the body.

Not a tube bed? OK. I'll keep that in mind.

I'll post some more pictures once I get my heap into a more representable shape.

Ive got my first SORRCA event coming up SOON! ( August 2015 ) I have a few question about my truck that I will be entering into the Class "2" Trail .
At the moment my truck sits as a Wroncho.

I saw the rule:
• Body/cage work must be at least 4.5" tall (including boat sides) and the inside of the front tires cannot extend outside of the width of the cab at the doors.

I'm thinking I'm way out. I just want to know where I should start before dumping money into the wrong thing for upgrades.

Switch back to SCX width axles and a tire that's no taller than 4.75in and you should be okay. Just make sure whatever wheels you use don't offset the inside edge of the tire wider than the cab.

Ok, sorry if this has already been covered. Can I run knuckle weight on my C2? With the way it's worded, it sounds like you guys allow some form of knuckle weight. Mine are the blue monkey, so they are black and blend into the wheel.

No comp style knuckle weights in any class

Forget the knuckle weights. Just add a bunch of stick on wheel weights to your axles and you're good to go.

EDIT:
Just got asked this on our forum:
The Ascender battery mount is illegal for a battery, yes. But there is nothing in the rules about adding a pound of led to the same flopsy mount. This is perfectlly legal, right?

If I make a brass disc look like a brake disc and machine a brake caliper into the same piece of material, would that be allowed to be mounted like knuckle weights normally are on comp vehicles?

This is why it doesn't seem cut and dry. If it said no form of knuckle weight in any classes, then I would understand. But it says no "comp style" knuckle weights, so does this mean they allow a scale style, like the new acender disc brake knuckle weight??? Just trying to make sure I understand.
