Proline did exactly that when they made the X compounds. The kept all the traction on the M compounds and made them last way longer. A super soft tire that would be bald after 1 race on a super abrasive race surface in the old M compound would now last 5-6 races in the X compounds.

G8 is the best compound? Not if you're after traction in the rocks. It isn't a bad compound but there are stickier compounds out there by far. I didn't see a single proline tire on any sporty, pro or super last weekend at the AZ summer shootout.

I'll be buying a set of hyrax in this compound when they're released.

Best scale nerd compound - yes IMO.

What compounds were at the comp?

All ottsix pin compounds, I had my red/gold klr-doos. White hot bodies were all over on supers and the winner in sporty had beat up rovers. There was at least 1 mini on g8 but he didn't place.

G8 is decent but ottsix owns it on the rocks by far. Red or gold will slay it.

I just want a tire that doesn't pack with mud and dirt...

The best compound and lug pattern in the world doesnt work when it's caked full of dirt.

I have silver KLRs. They are good tires for sure, but if I had to do it over again I'd try Gold or Red. Ottsix recommended Silvers to me and I'm not sure why.

Proline TSLs and Hyrax clear out fine. If those tires don't clear out for you nothing will.

Jealous!!!

I'm not surprised to hear that. Prolines typically break-in well. I'm excited. I hope they come out with mid-size Predators soon.

If your tires aren't clearing out then you just aren't spinning em fast enough.

Otherwise, I'm excited. Hopefully they have a class 1 release in this new compound.

I never minded it that much, but I know most people do hate the memory foam.

Order Proline's awesome dual stage foams and you'll be go to go.

They have been coming with the open cell foams for quite a while now too.

I don't know what was the first tire that got the new foams but my 1.9 KO2s from mid-2016 had them. Can't quite remember if my 2.2 KR2s from before that had open cell or memory foam.

Ya the KO2's, Krawlers and Hyrax all come with decent open cell foams. But like Jato said, their dual stage foams are awesome. I wish they made them in a size that fit their smaller TSL's though. That would be a great setup.

Maybe the 1.9 Hyraxs are different. These are the garbage foams I got with the 2.2 Hyrax for my Bomber.

I had a set of 2.2 Hyrax and do remember the stock foams being obnoxiously wide. The 1.9’s fit the tire much better.
