It makes perfect sense...

It was 85* out, Rocks were probably over 100*. Even in racing there are multiple compounds for different track temps/conditions.
85° isn't hot though...

How heavy is your truck?

Yeah, in stock at RPP too.

https://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/pro119703.htm

I also saw Proline had the KM3s in Predator compound available for sale at Axialfest so they should be in stores soon.

None of the smaller tires are made in Predator yet, I would guess the 4.19 Hyrax would be the first to get the new compound unless there is a new small tire in the works.

You realize the non-XL TSL SX is 4.30", right?

Yes but they don't measure out to be that. They are small in physical size in relation to exaggerated sized 4.19 competition...

I emailed Pro-Line and got this:

Hi Joseph,

Thanks for the product input. The Predator compound might make its way over to the 2.2" side at some point but nothing has been decided upon at this point. But I will definitely pass along the idea.

Thanks

I’m a fan, very sticky. The beads are also very soft so I had to freeze them to make the mounting easier. Definitely a step up from g8. As usual, the stock memory foams were soft for the rear for my liking, have some proline dual stage on the way to try out.

You may have seen this posted elsewhere, but here’s a video of my vs4-10 going against a 12ft rock wall with hyrax predator rubber.

I've got many hours on my predator compound tires, both the TSLs and the Hyraxes. Tested with my SCX10.2s and TRX-4 and they work fantastic.

I do think the softer sidewall needs different foams than the G8 variants though. Either firmer or taller to compensate. I went from 4.5 lil novas with the G8 hyrax tires to the 4.75 size with predators and I think it is perfect for my 8 to 9lb trucks.

The TSL versions look huge with that foam size. and fat. and dead sexy! My new favorite all arounder

The 2.2 BFG crawlers would be sweet in a softer compound. Be just like the 1:1 sticky comp bfgs... Seriously proline... Get it together!
