Very cool work man. that is some serious dedication to make a set of wheels on a manual machine.

Way cool work man. I wonder what a set of wheels in brass (post oxidation) would look like. I like the grubby, used look.

Best looking wheel to date. I want them and don't even need them!

They aren't that difficult, just time consuming. Its a fun yet crummy paying challenge. I've now reached the point where I have more wheels than rigs.

Indeed. I had the same thought.

Aaaaaaand they're gone. Time to find a new challenge.

I think these would look good with a better offset...might be too spindly for a crawler though.

I think some of these would look good as a beadlock as well.

Yep, always liked those too. The curvy spokes would be near impossible for me to do though.

They would look great, but I was looking at some 2-1/2" brass rod, 12" long was like $160.00 .

These would be better:

You could thicken them up just a bit and make them work for a crawler. (Or, you can make me a set of non-beadlocks for my shelf queen touring car so I can have a replica of my 1:1...)

Awesome job

Post some video, or a time lapse video of you making the wheels you've been machining lately. I don't think people appreciate the work a manual setup takes to make something like this.

Kinda like self inflicted pain ... as if he doesn't have enough going already, I would watch a time lapse for sure.

I tried that once...the camera was either in the way or I kept getting my ugly mug in the shot. I can do a step-by-step with still shots though. I'll capture the process on #3 later tonight or tomorrow.

I've got two notepads like that. Current projects get written down on the table, long term/constants get written on the wall.

on average, how many times would say you're changing tools on any given wheel?

I'm not sure if this is the most challenging wheel you've done, but it looks like it as the spokes are not symmetric, or across from one another.

really impressive

I write almost everything on my hand. I probably should be dead from ink poisoning...I think my BAC somehow helps with that.
