But, you only need to spot the other holes. Less chance of anything moving.

Remove the hinge and drill the other holes thru.

Now use the. 039 drill to open up the hinge holes. And the screws measure .041, so the screws will stay in the hinge and not fall on the floor.

Also, what you did is use the. 031 holes in the hinge for a more accurate template.

You do not want to fight putting these screws in. You will lose them and say bad words!

Place the hinge on the body. The tips of the screws will line it right up, and they will tighten down nicely.

Trust me, this works. And there's how many hinges in the bag?

Eleven...

I'm not gonna count the screws...

I might get anal on stuff like this, but all these screws and hinges can be a real pain. And when I have to do something over and over again like this, it eases the pain a little if I can figure out an easier way.

Or just a way that works and keeps me off the floor looking for tiny screws.

Again I apologise...

Nah! I take it back...I love stuff like this!

Amazing how scale details add to the looks of a truck...

Looks good. Now all you need are the grills for each side of the hood. I saw them on shapeways.

Are you referring to these grills? I think I've seen the shapeway ones. More three dimensional, black plastic...

Looks fab. You need a exhaust hole and exhaust on the opposite side to the fuel cap now.

Thank you. Is that the scale exhaust position?

On those modified for off road yes. Stock they run under the truck to the rear bumper. Just google Land Rover Defender Side exhaust.

Heat wave! After several days of 15 to 20 below... minus two and sunny! Here's a link to a run video, huge difference. Can't wait for spring, to test this TRX4 on the rocks...

It's a TRX 4/ ECX BARRAGE comparison, but here's another short crawling video...

Both trucks look great. All your hard work payed off. I'm curious what the 5th channel reverse mod you refer to in the video is ?

Thanks for sharing.

Thank you. The programming change is fairly easy and straight forward. I read about it in "bilinik's TRX4" thread.

He's doing it with the Traxxas Wireless Link Module. Simple servo reversing of channel five. That changes the diff locker switch to... back switch position is rear locked only, middle switch position is all locked, and front switch position is front locked only. There is no both diffs unlocked with this program change.

Like he says, you won't miss the both diffs unlocked at all. It steers fine in rear locked only, without any wheel hopping. It's like having a very good posi rear, no problem. That's the best drifting mode, you can do some really fun things with it. And you still get front locked only which at times gives a better crawling dynamic.

I've played with the transmitter programming to reverse my upgraded Savox steering servo already. I downloaded the pdf file manual from the Traxxas website to figure it out. The channel five servo reverse works by doing it that way also, you don't need Traxxas Wireless Link Module.

Here's a picture of the program change if you don't want to download the manual...

Wow that's going to make a lot of people really happy!!!
Great info for stock radio users right there! I'm using flysky, but now I won't be so quick to off the stock radio when I buy my 3 rd TRX

Thank you for taking the time to post that I info.

I like to install red LED's in the back, less blinding glare in my eyes, but still plenty of illumination for seeing the rear tires.

The red LED's in the back is something I stumbled on when I upgraded the bumpers on my ECX BARRAGE and I converted the bumper lights to rock lights.

These lights on my TRX 4 are actually from a Barrage kit. And, they are directional lights versus flood lights, so aiming them is a factor in choosing mounting location.

There's also an additional pair of flood LED'S in the front wheel wells.
