Use the 15 tooth pinion it came with or less.

A 15 turn motor should be about 4,300 rpm per volt. Or 4300kv.

if you arent crawling on rocks and scaring them up anymore just clean them real good and paint them. I think they are anodized from the factory.

I have been having what I think is a problem that my truck keeps getting like binding up when I try to climb or get in a kind of hard spot. I was wondering if it was my motor, battery, esc, or because I dont have a bec.
I have a
27t axial motor
7.2v 2400mah nimh battery (just bought 2s 2450mah 30c lipos)
THis esc 320A Speed Controller ESC for 1 5 1 8 1 10 RC Car Truck Buggy Boart Off Road US | eBay
will the battery upgrade fix it
thanks for the input

when it "binds up" does it act like the receiver is loosing power for a second and turning back on? if so its cause you need a BEC. IF you are just stalling the motor, a 27T don't have the bottom end grunt a 45 or 55t motor has so it will stall easier. Battery may help but if it does it won't be by much.

Also that ESC isn't Lipo ready, you will kill a lipo battery if you run them dead. Get one of these Low Voltage Buzzer Alarm Indicator 2S 4S LiPo Battery | eBay I run one on my creeper with an old duratrax sprint esc, It will alarm really loud when the lipo gets low. If you search around ebay you will fin them in country, I found mine from a guy in Alabama.

Did you also buy a lipo compatible charger?

Check the com in the motor and the brushes for ware,If the com gets dirty enuff you'll have a lack of power.

Ok is it better to have the internal springs inside the shocks in it or take them out? Will it give me more flex? Also would it be in droop setup if I did so

I'd try a 12 tooth pinion, If that don't work go to a higher turn motor. If you can't hold your finger on the motor comfortably without burning its geared to high.
