I will drive it, and my wife's mustang too!(if she lets me!) pretty much just a scale rig, but it'll crawl some just not going to do any competitions with it!

No build thread on the mustang. I am doing it start to finish before posting anything. I think* I am going to put it on scale4x4 there seems to be a few more car guys over there-

still would like to figure out headers, but really I am back to working on the interior. need to order the batteries, need to finish detailing the dash, hinge the hood, spray the body (details), shorten rear frame rails, drill bumpers for mounting, work on bumperettes for front bumper, finish motor under the hood, mount electronics, DRIVE!

the more I think about this rig the more disheartened I get. mostly with the axles- they were not nearly as nice as I was expecting. they are too wide. the radius arms though better than anything else I have seen are not what they should be- they need to have a rubber mount of some kind on the front so it will allow for flex. granted I have cheated and my front end does flex, just not as well as it could. the rear end isn't a 9". I personally have never seen ANY EB with a d44 rear axle. overly anal? you bet.

Just think of it as a set of one tons It would be nice if they made a build your own axle set, granted the price would go up considerably.

Keep the front axle and toss a Yota rear on like I did. It looks more like a 9" than a Toyota axle anyways! Ide love to find a decently prices K44 to swap into the front of the BlueBronco! It wont be spot on but itll be close. I too tried to put together a "closer to real" radius arm setup and failed. It didnt flex at all so I 3 linked it and called it a day. Do what you can with whats available and you never know whatll come out down the road!

For rubber mounts I use nitro fuel tubing, works great as a bushing. Also the toyota rear axle is the same design as the 9", just a little smaller in 1:1
Mine has decent flex...Outlaw Mud Truck?

spare tire carrier brackets~ brass flat stock, steel brake line, bend, cut, braze together!

tape on proper locations~

start to bend the brake line- a dollar coin was the circumference I used for the proper bend.

GO GATORS!

used a brass bearing rod to keep things lined up- used a round file to cut the end of the carrier for a good joint. before brazing.

finished product after a bit of filing- still need to put filler inbetween the metal hinges so it is solid.

close up~

Just have to mount up the "spare" tire!

This is just OUTSTANDING!!! You don't mind if I make one of these killer carriers up myself? Now, question is how to "latch it' to the tailgate.?

As well as the "ford" steering " trac bar hook up..? I have been trying for years to figure out my steering on my scale Bronco and I am at work at it again. You have given me inspiration sir!!!

yep, seen it. I am not wristing my radius arms. Point is to be scale not "custom".

working on both projects today- hinginging the hood today on the bornco- (or hope to) and installing electrics on the mustang.
