OK, heres todays progress.... Few more things got added to the dash, like - Auto Meter Tachometer( with shift light) , a Cobra CB Radio, the top air vents, wiper switch , the hazard button ..... and then THIS Happened................ The Damn thing fell right off the dash...Guess it was now time to "fix" it the right way..... Now I got room for all sorts of extra stuff..!!!! Heres a shot of the "business" end of things..!!!!! Next up is Paint, and Gauges, then onto the next "Surprise"..... STAY TUNED..!!!! |

LOL Neil - wires for the Tach will come once everythings all painted up..( which will be soon..) and as cool as moving needles in all the guages would be, and working air vents that swivel, and actual mini "tree" air fresheners that actually smelled good ( like the real ones..) I think the dash is almost finished up my friend..The main gauge pod may get backlit once its completed, but thats about it... I actually JUST recieved a package of "Supplies" from Tower Hobbies, so onto the next step in the Clampy build- Now the rest of the chassis and cage work can begin...( and don't forget about the yet to be revealed "special" package thats going under the hood as well... ) I have ALL next week OFF from work- so a LOT will get done on Clampy then.... Its got to be motor of some sort? theres plenty of room at the front.... Make sure you get the fan blades spinning and opening moveable flaps on the carbs would be sweet too! I think i need to go to rehab for my addiction, i'm scaring myself at the moment. | |

Had some free time this afternoon, and FINALLY got back to work on Clampy.. The real 1:1 has this cool looking custom made metal "mesh" box right behind the rear firewall, that looks like it serves as a storage rack for a trail cooler, or anything else for that matter.. ( i.e. electronics tray for Clampy...) Heres the real 1:1 below..... Then I got to thinking, DAMN, Thats alot of holes I need to drill into some styrene....(YA Right..) Then I realized/remembered I had something stashed away In the back of the garage from a past project, that might be PERFECT for this part of the build..!!!! B-I-N-G-O..!!!!!!! This was an old "electronics tray" i took out of some custom r/c truck I bought at a local swap meet years ago..I was going to originally throw it away, but something told me to hang onto it..It might be useful someday..!!! - WHEW..!! The Best part is its thin metal plate..!! Again - the 1:1 set-up Below- ( also with mounted "Powertank") And what I got done today....... Still got more styrene work to do in this area....plenty more to come tomorrow..!!!!!! |

That's just craptastic! Nice work. Keep raising the bar. I really wish there was 28 hrs in a day. Then I might be able to have more time to do this kind of stuff. Of course it would never look this good. |
