a gunmetal that works is my first choice too but there arent any other gunmetals that I found, unless Testors or Modelmasters makes a gunmetal spray I didnt see...
the other option is to go grey, then add a glossy clear if needed. that would eliminate the metallic though. not sure if thats a good thing. I'll have to think about it. I dont want to overthink it though, as I'm tending to do that a lot lately on this build, lol...

I'd never hold it against you or anyone for voicing an opinion. The dark color, gunmetal or otherwise, will be the fenders and lower trim. there are no bumpers on this build that are integrated in the body. they'll be steel and painted flat black.
Thanks.

Wow...lots of great tips & ideas in this build. I'm just about to get started on a Tundra from scratch and I think I am going to bookmark this thread so I don't loose track of the ideas. Nice work

I think I finally found the right darker color.
Other than that, just continuing on sanding and filling, working on the interior a bit, waiting for the transfer case to arrive...the usual, lol..

the charcoal lower color is Dupli-Color Charcoal Grey Metallic (automotive spray paint).
Ideally the silver would be a little darker but I can live with it like that.

thanks stu. means a lot coming from you.

I love the little details, like how the rain gutter goes up and over the rear door.
Also always hated how the hinge, visible on the 1:1, was missing here. Intend to get the angled cut at the lower right of the door too...

yes, still sanding...just needed a break from snorting styrene dust...

Looks great, you should get an award just for the body work and all of the sanding that you have done to that thing Pablo. Keep it up.

Thanks.
The raffle tickets will be widely available. [edit: they'll be sold for a couple months before nats, then the winner will be announced at nationals, where I hope to present the truck, run it there and announce the winner.] I intend to make them available on all the forums I am on, as well as posting up a video on youtube of the shakedown run with info about getting tickets. Still have to sort the details though.

found a better upper color.

not so shiny, less contrast to lower. works better to me.

New color looks a lot better Pablo. Great job so far. I have a question tho, if someone buys a ticket but cant go to the Nats... can they still win?
