I have a questions btw.

I've wrote a blog, and I want to present an RC made of used materials around our homes. In other words, a homemade rc.

The materials would be a Coke Cola cans...

Do you think that would works nice?
Or we need thicker sheet?
Glad to see this inspiring others Soda cans are not soft enough to form. if you want to show it as stuff used from round the house, I originally used disposable baking sheets. it's the same material i use now.

not wide open but i'm not going to baby it either. This truck is to test the durability of the body and if all works well the next one will probably be used a little easier.

Here is some more progress.

I have been looking at using latex molds and resin to make molds for the truck and finally bit the bullet and bought a starter kit. I would love to use this stuff for all my molds but it's expensive, this kit cost $75

The main reason I wanted to use this stuff is the first time i molded the cowl it didn't turn out so well

particurlarly the vents. the plaster had bubbles and the bondo stuck in them.

but with the latex i had much better results.

First i made a surround out of cardboard and poured the latex mixture.

24 hours later i had a nice mold with no bubbles and extreme detail

After the resin was poured i had the beginning of the mold

The detail was amazing!

after some shaping i had the mold finished

And here is the final part

i was very satisfied with the way the vents turned out

Next is the firewall

I nominate your for scale master (read as scale Yoda)!

I also have a question. One you may have already answered and I missed processing all the awesomeness. But how are you bonding the panels together, or are you bending seams to mate to one another?

simply amazing, great detail. I am guessing you built a scale spot welder to attach the panels.

This is incredible, very inspiring.

I do have a quick question; do you anneal the metal before shaping or is it already soft enough?

beautiful work masher, saw how you were mounting the cab to the frame, just an observation, maybe put something rubber and soft between the cab and frame like an o-ring or something, if your frame has any twist to it it may rip the body apart. that is why they do it on a 1:1. it is not just for noise reduction it gives it flex, anyway not bashing just saying. you are building something i would never have the patience for fn great work. just saying cause i would like to see how long you can make it last.

That cowl panel is unbelievable! The lines are so crisp, and I can't get over how good the vents are.

Nice ride. I've seen a few of the aluminum bodies on the bay, but I think you may have inspired me to try my own. Gracias!
