so i had this crazy idea for the easiest, most rediculiously amazing max shaft mod. mostly cause im sick and tired of the sloppyness that mip's develop. and that they weight a ton. so bought a set of max shafts and they came in today. stay tuned to see how amazing this mod is gonna be. its so simple its rediculious. ive seen some of the mods people do and it just doesnt seem worth it.

with my design you DO NOT have to mod the 5mm output shaft. or the 6mm yoke....

all im doing is having a sleeve machined with a 5mm inner and 6mm outter diamater with a hole drilled in it so the set screw can pass through and clamp on the existing output. while the sleeve centers the drive shaft on the output shaft. i will do this for both the axle and trans side so i dont have to mix match yokes n such. and do all them rediculious mods.

now thats max shafts made easy!!
ill post pics of the install process when i get them.

Precisely except 5mm inner and 6mm outer. Good find. Guess I'm not the only one that thinks all the mods people do to get them to fit are retarded and completly unnessasary

Here you go.

my electronics setup. finally got the clutter under control. for a nice low cg. and a front weight bias
inside is
mmp esc
receiver
servo
battery
winch controller
cc bec
.... a whole lot packed into not much lol.. i swear its all in there

if i had the center skid mounted on main chassis rail every thing would be below the spur gear. but i dropped it 1/2" so you can see how low everything is

Was having issues with the 4pole brushless motor. I been runnin the holmes 35t and they are smooth as butter esp. If you play with the throttle curve. But when I get home I'm switching to the holmes br/xl sice it has all the programming via castle link and its water proof and I can run 4s with no issues.

Yah I made those up and they turned out pretty good. The pics are froma while back but the one guys asked for em n I knew I had em stashed somewhere on here. But its all still the same.

Gonna take a chapter out of your book and make the change to flat fenders as soon as I get back home. I got it all planned out its gonna be sweet.

You really shoe horned the crap out of that engine compartment! Nice job! Let us know how you get the 5/6 mm sleeve for the drive shafts figured out. It would be nice to find something off the shelf (from somewhere) that a dremel could cut to size.

Keep a look out in the vendor section. They are being made of stainless as we speak.

Its the only way I could fit and hide it all while still keeping performance in mind. But I have special treat/rearrangment planned in the very near future.

Go big or go home right?

Post up a link on this thread when it arrives. I drink a lot and sometimes can't find the Vendor section!

so i got a new winch on order just waiting for it to come in it has a 7lb dead lift capability and its all metal. with integrated fairlead on the base plate. and it has free-spool action!

and was curious as to how tall my truck was in relation to width.

so i run sprung and but the shocks droop a bit in the front and the rear is pretty much full sprung w/ maybe 1/2 of drop while its sitting

rig comes in at under 8 1/2"

if i run my mayhem monsters with the .750 hubs in G6 mode my rig is 10.5" wide

if im running in C2 mode its only 9.5 wide outside to outside of front tires.

it def helps out that im wider than i am tall. really helps me keep the tires planted to the ground.
