You'd better make a scale 1/10 tumbleweed. Haha...
Yup the tumbleweed is essential!

Made them.

Bed painted: All the aluminum parts were powdercoated black first before recieving a coat of olive drab... a preventative measure to keep the shinny aluminum from glaring through inevitable scratches in the olive paint. I decided to leave the anchor points powdercoat/black - for contrast. Bumper removed for now to hog out more aluminum/reduce weight then powdercoat.

Skull is now officially screwed on

Hmm maybe... I need to check out my cooling system cuz its building too much pressure right now. So I'm waiting for a VW diesel expert to get back to me cuz I'm too busy to troubleshoot it myself.

Down to 112 grams... wanted to get under 100 but I gotta move on to other things

Did some light sanding to knock down the corners a bit cuz it was looking way too "machined" when the corners were too crisp/sharp

Looking Great, now put on that bumper, get a 1/10 scale train going at speed, load it up with a 1/10 car, and drive that alongside and steal the car.

A fully scale vid of that doing it's thing would look EPIC though

I like that idea of sanding the edges, makes it look like a 1:1 version.
It's funny how something so small, makes such a difference.
Maybe you are already going to do it, but I think doing a dark wash/dry brush on the body and the skull will bring out all the details.
Always enjoy and learn something checking out this build.

Good idea on the on the wash/dry brush. I definitely need to weather/age it a bit cuz everything looks too clean.

Not a good habit, but I popped these parts in the powdercoating oven, set the timer, and went on a mtb ride. During my ride I occasionally paused/looked in the direction of my house for a smoke plume

....and voilá

I love those powercoated parts! Everything looks great so far, but like it was said it needs some "weathering"...or dirt haha Can't wait to see it in the wild again

Very impressive build. Gives me motivation to strive for excellence on my current 6x6 build

Aren't you done with this yet? Some of us less talented people would like to get back to building our own rigs without being shamed into seclusion....

I really dig the pics of the 1:1 rig, are you going to do any weathering to your rig? Either way it's gonna look sick!

Hey Prifral, I have a train for you to steal a car off of if you want to come up to Oregon. It's even 1/10th scale!

My dad built this train in high school metal shop, still has it. It would make an awesome video! Yes that's me in the picture (yellow shirt...circa 1979).

Awesome work my friend...truly inspiring!
