unlike the tubing and interior im keepin the elecs pretty simple. ill just bundle up extra length mess and make it tidy. got a weird idea im going to try out, another autozone idea.

nothing special in terms of progress but im closer than i was this morning. it took a bit of trial and error to get a decent component placement thats somewhat tidy. heyok winch relay and brake light controller, rs esc, castle bec, and flysky.
made a couple aux ports for the leds and stuff. still a ton of room under the floor around the tcase as well as the empty fuel cell.

rick had little switches for the vp lights, and i have some extras, but for now im keeping it simple and will just unplug the lights. maybe..

Great thread and build! Also, I enjoyed the Star Wars/Han Solo reference in the post above.

it all fits. barely.
ended up making a styrene plate to mount the elecs too. between the skid, the elec mount, and the floorboard & body panel the wires should be plenty contained. conformal'd everything. will grease contacts and plugs when i wire it again.

kinda want to put it all together just to see how it looks, and maaayybe give it a little shakedown. probably should gut it and hose the chassis with wd40 first. ;)

little trimming to the front clip, some simple styrene flair to the body panels and its ready to paint.

i threw on some old cut and shut proline swampers on some early gearhead wheels. just a tick too wide for c2 but it looks GOOD on the smaller tires.

cut up a new body and made some new panels. kydex roof and rockers.

shot it all flat black just to make it look less like a cop car and holy hell it looks badass. interior is all buttoned up but i still need to paint the willies guys. im thinking grey primer (inkwashed) would set them off a little and match the other grey areas of the truck, OR paint them flat black as well and be darth about everything. its blacker in person, the flatness of it kinda tricks my phones camera to hunt for shape and it blows out the image a bit.

really happy with this truck. definitely helped me get out of a very long funk and got me excited to build again.

Goog job on the interior man, some smaller tires would look awesome on this thing, especially the spare!

How does the battery tray drop down? I'm about to start building a baja bug on an Exo chassis and plan on using two drop down battery compartments, similar to how the DF03 used to operate. Not sure on what kind of mechanism I want to use yet, something simple, quick, and reliable.

truck was originally a c2 truck with 1.9's, it looks kickass with the smaller tires but i already got a couple 1.9 scx width rigs. i have another project down the road that id want to use the xr setup on, and when i get to it ill probably get this back to c2 spec.

i got a bunch of pics a few posts back on how the doors open to get to the battery and elecs. the only thing i would do to improve them is using better materials over mild steel but im gonna run it pretty good and see how they hold up.

those fancy prepackaged scale fuel cells seem pricey until you carve one up out of styrene...

thanks to dielaughing for the pics and the scale hardware for the fuel thing. the rig ended up killer, just a couple little details and its done. im really happy with it. its a heavy pig but thought out to be heaviest in the best places, and while i might not have the most capable rig at a comp its gonna be just as fun to run gates with a wicked cool scaler.

will take some more pics tomorrow. it definitely looks more proportionate on 4.75"tires than it does on the 5.5 voodoos. thinking maybe a cut and shut voodoo u4 or tire somewhere around a 5 or a 5.25, or maybe just put the scx tubes back on so its c2able. such hard choices with important consequences. what ever shall i do...
