Dude. I love this rig. The more beat up it gets the better it looks. I was one of the inspirations for my TJ build. I was looking at the BFG's for mine. Right now Im running the regular Proline TSL's. How do the BFG's look size and proportions wise on the TJ?

Thanks man! The more I drive it the more I like it. The bfgs look about 1/8" taller unmounted on the truck, but I'm running the same 4.5" ci foams as my pitbulls and they did well. They are a little big, but I just love krawlers. I'm hoping to get to really test it out in the next few weeks before our comp on June 29th.

Had a great time at my first G6 a few weeks ago, one thing I would like to address is the lack of flex in the back of the jeep. It's a fine line between stability and not enough flex in a short wheelbase jeep like this with lots of weight up high. I finally picked up one of the dinky cantilever kits to see if it will do what I want. I'll post pictures when I get it in.

Attending a G6 is a buckletlist/short list dream for me...I'm in TN,where did you attend one at? I thought the closest official G6 to me was in Arkansas (would like to know if one's closer than that so I could make it next year ) Looking forward to those pics mentioned |

The Carolina scale crawlers held one a few weeks ago at the Glendale shoals preserve in Spartanburg, there were about 40 trucks and it was a great time! Not an official G6 sponsored by axial.

Skerb, I'm glad you still have the little tj.. A rig that is used and evolves over time is pretty rare. Most folks go through rig's like they do underwear. I love a well used rig. The new wheel and tire combo looks fantastic btw |

Well I got the dinky cantilever kit in, and it's as I expected. The kit mounts the shock near the back of the stock frame, and mine has an inch cut off. If I move the shock mount forward it puts the connector link to the axle too far forward... Hmm what to do. |

So I trimmed the rear of the body to clear the cantilever kit and tested it out. I would need to run a swaybar or stiffer springs with it and create some rear bumper to cover it up. So looks like it's a no go on my two jeeps. There just isn't enough frame left for it. So I went back to my old setup minus the swaybar and I put the blue axial super stuff springs out back, because they are at such an angle it's still really soft but I think I'll run it in the next comp like this. So after cutting off the rear lower part of the body I now had room to build a bumper, so I made this one up to be simple and light. |

It seems to work on a fairly light rig, it's a little more involved than just the shocks and pivots, they come with a nice machined aluminum plate which lines up the cantilevers properly with the shock.

So the last comp finally finished off my front axle housing, it had cracked a few comps ago, but now it was pushed in and letting water in my dif. So I picked up a new housing and knuckles ebay to freshen it up. Cracked Torn down Fresh housing! And breaking it in properly... No rear swaybar anymore, but I redid the shock mounts and put in my super stiff rear coils and we are about right. |

Out with the old and in with the new. This shouldn't have a problem turning the new bfgs. |

Been putting it off for a long time, but I finally made some tube shock mounts for the front. I picked up a vanquish axle mount for the front axle because of the cool scale looks. It mounts the trackbar about 1/4" higher at the axle so some frame trimming and new shock mounts was required. |
