I'll be there.

Chassis fresh out of a couple baking sessions. That's all for a little bit.

Yup. The panels were white styrene (busted up/haggard now) painted silver but I built this over the weekend and it should help tackle cutting thin AL or steel panels. Axles will have Dinky R/C servo on axle mounts painted blue and blue diff covers. Really liking this high temp paint.

$65 HF bandsaw that runs 0-230fpm, $35 in metal and 4 hours fab time.

Back to roller status. A little shorter wheelbase, new trans, new lighter weight axles. Put standard ratio gears up front this time and still using UD out back.

Nice blue on the cagework. Planning on running similar silver panels than previously or going a different route?

Right now, ride height is same as before. Going to swap out to full size springs and bring it up a little to see how it does.

Before, I just painted styrene silver. I may go with raw steel panels as I have done with many other of my builds cause I am lazy. Usually looks just as good when stickered up. I have a set of blue yota stripe graphics now.

Thanks. There are other buggies on RCC that are cooler than my ol heap.
The rig does works great. I hope this rebuild will look good too.

Using the bandsaw to cut out thin metal panels. Works great. Just have to do the side panels and ill be done. Not perfect on cuts but better than painted styrene.
Underside panels tucked into links and driveshaft to keep stuff out of the chassis.
Ignore that rear driveshaft. I need to make an extension for more engagement.

Check out the extended MIP shaft from SuperShafty that is 3/4" longer to give better/more engagement

"Exclusive" MIP X-Duty CVD™ Bone - Super Shafty

Looking good, keep up the nice work on this one.

Thanks. Didnt know those were sold. I will just cut and weld an extension on the female shaft. I can cut and weld a section back end towards the pinion coupler end.

Looks great Shane! Interesting to see the belly height once you switch to full-size springs.

Still debating that swap. Right now, at ride height, the shocks are 50/50 bump/droop. Once I get it running, I'll see how it looks with full springs and how it peforms. Looking at the Red Rocks pictures for the CO event, I may leave it as a belly dragger and just gear it up a touch for breakovers.

My new bandsaw setup is really helping me out in the shop these days.

Cut a new drivers side panel. Old panels were painted styrene.
Compound bends on the side panels make for tricky hole drilling.

Pretty much done.

Need to notch the front Dinky Servo mount to accommodate the slighty larger holmes hobbies servo. I am running an older HH servo outback that is standard size.

Also, need to sort out my losi MRC esc for the winch controller. It's acting up ever since I drug the truck through 10' of creek at ECSC trying to get that extra progress.

Thanks guys, I am not sure what to think of the blue chassis and blue yota decals just yet. The black wheels are throwing it off or something. It wont matter and I run it for a battery pack and bash on it.
