Nice work dude!

What are those metal plates bolted to the front axle for? Mad Max impersonation?

Why sir those are weights. Each piece weighs a little over an ounce.

They were originally mounted on top of the axle, then mr. Szczerba said it would be better if they hung lower in front of the axle. I think he was right.

So sitting out of Nat's this year had it's ups and downs. Knowing that I wasn't attending I sort-of pushed the crawlers away for a few months. Call it a mini-break. Fast-forward to now and Crawlapaloozooppapopzippity is right around the corner. It's fun, cheap, driveable... going. I'll also get a chance to remember Mr. Chip Cross with friends since the event is dedicated in his memory. Kinda dorky cool fact, but Chip sold me his Futaba 4pk a few years back. I'm still using it and don't plan on switching.

Minor update and shout-out to RcBros for offering these knuckle weights. The setup is very simple and affordable. I've never ran knuckle weights with an XR setup so I was and still am surprised at how much weight you can fit on the inside of the mount. I like to run as narrow as possible so this setup is ideal. Electronics are all on the front axle as well now.

Rig is solid

I'd like to thank Eddie for being the main sponsor and the other vendors as well. Crawlapalooza was a great comp and the rocks were awesome as usual.

The rig is running at it's best right now. Along with the knuckle weights I had my front wheels machined to remove excess material and also I swapped to a 16t Crawlmaster that was collecting dust. Running at 14t pinion this beast is able to keep up with the pullers.

Old 30 turn Torquemaster Pro on the bottom, new 16 turn Crawlmaster Pro on top.

Sniper Fab'd Mayhem Evo on the left, stock un modified on the right. total loss was 0.5 oz per wheel.

Great driving Ashton! What happened to that fancy motor you were running in this rig?

I had some hang ups on the 520s, I've been holding his ransom. Hang up being time and labor related.

Thanks Ryan
There should be some video coming up soon courtesy of Rolandrockshop.

On the motor John said it first. I also kinda ran out of r/c funds which pushed the build out even further. So in the meantime I found a use for a back-up 16t crawlmaster armature that I'd probably never need. The motors that I bought the back-up for are still in tip-top shape after being ran since 2011.

Thanks guys, it felt great. Disney is one of the best spots to crawl at in the US, hands down. I wish the comp lasted longer!
