Some news, now it's time to take care of the front axle.

The impression is thrown, and the only thing left to do is to pull in front of the letter-box during 2 weeks

Thanks Stormin2u

Small experience feedback on the body. Globally it holds rather well the shock.
I do not treat carefully it and the plastic is rather flexible and it takes it well.
It broke in 2 places, but it broke because of the reinforcement in diagonal down which prevents it from bending. Of the blow it breaks. Without this reinforcement, it would not probably have broken. The version 4mm and without this reinforcement is in progress.

I also installed the reinforcement inside. It is not compulsory, because the rigidity of the set is good, but it brings all the same one more in the rigidity, for a lightweight (env. 2 or 3 g). I like it my reinforcement, then I put it!!

The lid of box, which allows to close her

I put a steel slice to strengthen at the level of the level of the inf. links. This place rubs, and with the slice a lot, it will wear out less.

And there I have a issue of parallelism But nothing serious!!

Contained by some box

Tgenial had sent me the new support of front axle, thanks fot him !!

The support of servo printed

With inserts

With servo

The support for the right shock.

First assembly for test

With lower link

Final assembly

Nothing of exceeds underneath

It allows to have a max of steering

The arm of lever of the direction is bumped off over the axle.

The tire comes licked the shock and the lower link, but without blocking or or hanging.

In the end Margouillat loses almost 10g with regard to the previous configuration

Margouillat RTR with weight

3.65 pounds! I'll bet that pulls some insane lines with a tail wind.

Are you going to sell that front plate arrangement? I like it, a lot..... In fact I wouldn't mind the chassis/tranny/skid/cage as well....

Before selling one parts, I will wishes to take time to see how the plastic reacts to the constraints of the crawler. I think that there should be no surprise, but one never know.

I use this setup since more 1 year, but with aluminium parts. The setup is good, I just need to validate the material.

Hi,

Some pics of the new body in 4mm.

Poser on the rock

The new body is stiffer and better proportionned. Later some tests of falls it holds well. It is encouraging.

A little video of the day.

Hi,

Margouillat having evolved a lot and the weight on the frame having decreased a lot (-60g), it's time to revise the suspension.
After several tests, I try finally the pink springs in the rear. It is my small feminine touch
I made out a will with less of preload on the silver springs but it was not still in rather soft.

I have of it to take advantage to replace the old rear shock by new. The old had already well lived ( +5 years).

only 6mm of preload

In front, exit the SCX shock, I replace them also by big bore. Big bore has a much more soft functioning and without hard point. In front, the shaft on the big bore is closely shortened 1cm.

9cm of clearence

The new Holmes Hobbies TEAM Puller 400 Crawl 16t. Very sweet motor but very noisy

After tests, The behavior in crossing is very much better, I find the flexibility of the old configuration.
The torque twist is very very light, and manageable, it is what is needed.
It to swim the crawl little always skips, he is going to need that I work on foam.

More generally, I treat carefully it not, I drive a lot (I am in vacancy this week) and I do things without delicacy even not bad just to push parts to the limit and that holds rather well, not had of breakage for the moment

Really nice work and always interesting to read this thread
I also tried some different springs, for me it's most important to get the best sidehilling performance. But i'm not sure what works best... my Pro always have a better performance, especially at sidehills
