| Re: Locked Up's SCX10 - Trail Ready H2 Thanks! I actually did pretty well. Official scores are not up yet but they announced me as 4th overall in Class 1 at the awards. I'm happy with it! It was a really nice day for crawling on Saturday but I had a few issues... My battery connection was sketchy on course 1. That cost me a repair and a bunch of time. Finished that course with 8 seconds left. On course 4 I broke a solid steel rear driveshaft! It was an old punisher and the steel in it has just rusted to heck. Cross pin collar thing just broke in half but luckily I was able to drive in 2wd/fwd and winch through the last 2 gates. So it really only cost me 6 points overall but scared the poop out of me. Thanks to Kevin I was able to get it repaired and finish up the day. Day 2 I skipped driving and just helped Judge. It was cold as hell and rainy but we still had a good time. I really encourage anyone that has not been to a SORRCA Scale Nationals event to make it to one. It's a great time. Last edited by Locked Up; 04-28-2015 at 09:12 PM. |

Couple of pictures from the Red Rocks with Eric, Kevin & Brian. I'm probably going to play with a few of the original sizes in 'shop to see if I can get some cool zoom in action/ Last edited by Locked Up; 04-28-2015 at 08:27 PM. |

Updates for nationals: I replaced a few rod ends and cleaned up the driveshafts. I'm also replacing the springs & brushes on my never maintained motor. It's just been a couple of years. I don't know why John says we should maintain these things. Was going to call it good when I realized my foams were still soaked from an outing months ago. So I think it's time for some new wheels. I decided to go with some wheels that are pretty rare, our 2.2 Recluse AO8 (not yet released) and there are only 12 in existence. I love the wheels, BUT they are 2.2s. So I'll be stretching my 1.9s over them. The lower profile look is probably more common on a 1:1 H2, and as much as I've tried to make this truck look rugged over the years... the rings are going to be attention whore blingtasticness. Yes, that is primer on them. Yes, whore colors coming. |

The rings are whoretastic! Yes, I used the old cans of paint I had lying around from the sunburst paint I did on my drifter, I mean comp rig, I mean TF2, I mean ... whatever. I was in a rush and forgot to prime them, So I expect them to not hold up that well. I made some for the Wraith as well and those got primer, so it will be a good test! Patrick you need to send that thing to me for some updated sliders, bumpers, and cage. No charge of course, you've been great to me I just got a shipment of chromoly and a new welder. I personally despise hummers but it's for my favorite vendor so I can overlook it this time.

Its so cool to see you keep bringing the same rig back year after year. If you would like to freshen up the look a bit, try rubbing it down with a little floor wax. That should make some of the scratches a little less noticeable. If you want a "under construction" look, sand down the deepest scratches and then bead blast it. That will give it a flat black look sorta like a primer. See you soon. |

I don't see why we couldn't sand it down and give it some fresh paint. Unless you would rather have a newbright TJ, 2 door China JK, or a Yota. I know a guy that has multiples of those. |

Brushes replaced. Springs are now XXX. Based on the brushes I removed, probably need to cut the comm. Hmmmmm. |
