pat, been over the thread and did not see the spur and pinion size you run, could you give that info and are you still running the teken 45 turn?

I got my body! Just need to mount it and mount my roof rack and light bars. Figure out a way to run my winches front and back too.

Got the body mounted. Need to mount the winch on the frame in the front and the back and I'm waiting on my led bars. Not sure what I want for wheels yet. I might switch to pitbull rockbeats too.

Looks good man. I may know a place you can get some nice wheels. Oh and if you want clear windows on there (to run interior later), get this while you can: Hummer H2 Clear Windows |

The current drivetrain is a Tekin 45t, 87t spur and 18t pinion. I need to update the first post I guess! Last edited by Locked Up; 03-07-2014 at 09:53 AM. | |

I think I'm gonna try and keep it light. And where are you referring to get these wheels?

Aluminum. But I'm looking at 1.55 wheels. Want more tire than wheel

Well I'm a liar. I went to a hobby shop and bought some pit bull rockbeasts. So I'm gonna be rolling with 1.9s. Got any good deals for me?

So ... back on track with the H2. As the chassis sits now ... I got a new set of drive shafts to replace the MIP shafts. All I could get my hands on at the moment are punisher shafts. Not the most scale but pretty beefy. I'm hoping to get them swapped out but not sure if the other items I have planned will be here in time. While I had it apart I went ahead and tarted a light diet for the H2. I removed some extra bits of plastic off of the rear bracket that my light connections are on ... and wired up the lights to run off of the battery directly. No more 9V in the gas tank. So a couple ounces gone already. And a few poser shots for the heck of it ... I still want to shave a little more weight off up top so I'm going to go through the body and see what can be done. I may even get crazy and clean it up a bit for scale nats! |

I brought the H2 out to one of my favorite places around Austin, Barton Creek, for a CTXRCC competition. It was a beautiful day with plenty of rock and some of us were running late due to an extended happy hour the night before. Not many pictures because I got engrossed in what was going on and forgot to take them but the H2 did have a hard day. On course 1, the last gate required you to straddle up an almost impossible crevice that ate all the trucks. As you can see my wheelbase changed itself with the liberal application of power. I winched up through the crack to finish the course with the best score but the damage was done! Broke both lower rear rod ends on my bent links because when it got stuck I did what I normally do ... gave it more power. I blame the beers the night before for my stubbornness. Steve in his H2 SUT had a little bit of a better time going through but he got wedged and winched through as well. Cory had a little worse luck and snapped a tab on his housing... Oops! |

It's only been a "little while" since I updated this... Heading to Colorado tomorrow for the Rocky Mountain Scale Nationals. So, I decided to give the H2 a new set of bead locks, hubs, decals, and gave it a general once over: Last edited by Locked Up; 04-28-2015 at 09:11 PM. |
