Thanks guys. I don't have pictures, but old servo posts work great to mount the boxes.

By the way, do you still not have any weights in your front tires?
The weights are actually in my rear tires right now. Without a bed or spare tire the rear of my truck is really light, almost too light. So, I moved the weighted wheels to the rear to help balance the truck out.

Here is my take on what to do with the ass end of the rig. I still have to lengthen the wheelbase and move the shocks back and such, but its heading in the right direction I think.
Thanks. I like the new look on your truck too.

I haven't done any waterproofing to the servo. But, I am going to waterproof the electronics again. Look for an article on Axial's blog soon for that.

What brand of orange paint did you use on your driveline yokes?
You should have asked santa for a can of WD-40 for Christmas.....

I have used servos from most manufacturers in the water without issue.

It's "Rustic Orange" by Pactra, it'll give your ride that "antique" look.

No. I am going to waterproof them, but I haven't had a chance yet. I am either going to put my electronics in balloons, or try and seal these boxes with o-rings and Shoo Goo.

I got same boxes and am planning on ballooning my RX, led controller, winch controller. then some grease or rtv sealant between lid and box then some liquid tape all over seams..... at least that's my plan.

I am getting ready to build a SCX based scaler and have a couple questions about waterproofing. I see what the water, mud, and sand have done to the internals on your rig and wonder if bushings would be a good thing to use instead of bearings. I understand bearings are smoother and better than bushings but not after they are exposed to the elements of scale crawling. I think a nylon bushing kit would be sweet (may already exist I don't know, I am new to scale.). Also I plan on building mine using a stainless screw kit so rusted hardware wont be an issue. Just curious what your opinion is on these topics?
Thanks,
Chris

That should work.

Bushings will work fine too, and are a cheap alternative to replacing bearings. The only thing I don't like about them is when water and sand get in and around the bushings they can wear pretty quick leaving you with sloppy gear mesh and play in the axle shafts. The bearings will seize up over time too, but they don't seem to develop the slop bushings do. SS screw kits are nice too, and eliminate that "rustic" look I have going.

I run an Axial 27t motor with a 17t pinion and stock 87t spur gear, on 3s.

Picked up that 17t today and it made night a day difference. Took the 65t out and went back with the 27t. Probably get a new esc and may try the Holmes hobbies hand wound 35. What's your thought on the 35?

I think the 35t motors are great for scalers, good wheel speed and torque.

I dont get it... How do you raise the rock rails because everyone is telling me to but i dont know how...

The heck with me, nice rig man, i suggest putting the electronics in balloons seems easier to me. But just a suggestion...

Keep up the good work!
