It does work on black oxide, but it depends on how deep the rust is and some of the oxide coating may be removed.

Thanks Bender!

Man, that's a lot of sand

Did you use a funnel to get that much in there

I was stuck in a stream recently that was full of sand. The water must have carried the sand inside the housing until it hit the backside of the ring gear, where it stopped.

I am running MaxAmps 1550mah 3S lipos. They have replaced them with an 1800mah lipo now, that is virtually the same size.

Got the Honcho back together this weekend. I installed a couple project boxes from Radio Shack to house all the electronics. Next I am going to install some lights. Then, balloon all the electronics so it will be 100% waterproof again.

I did. I cut the wings off a while ago just to give it a little different look.

bender you spoiled my surprise.... I was planning on mounting my electronics in almost exactly the same way. HAHA! i got my honcho built just waiting on my holmes hobbies esc/motor, led's, winch and some other goodies to get here. I was looking at boxes at radio shack over the weekend. I mean why not mount em there. good low COG and tons of space under that body. I was looking at smaller type batteries and then figured why not run a tad larger battery for more capacity and move electronics down there.

NICE work!!

Thanks. Brandon actually did this to his Honcho first, I'm just copying him.

Yeah, it does clean up the chassis a lot. No extra grease in the axles either.

Nice Rig Bender. Can't wait to finish my honcho build and start adding some of your changes.

By the way, do you still not have any weights in your front tires?

Man, I love this build Brad!

Here is my take on what to do with the ass end of the rig. I still have to lengthen the wheelbase and move the shocks back and such, but its heading in the right direction I think.
