The scores are in... Melon's could have had first in C2 this comp if I had taken my time!
Before scale points, I was in first by 1 point... After scale points, I got second by 10 points... next time Hoopty!

hahaha, actually, I'm pretty happy with my run.
I lost 10 points to a repair and 10 for sure, possible 20 to my excitement.

I think I need to gear down just a bit... I'd like a little more low end throttle control and have more than enough top end. You can see in this video that Trey shot/edited what I'm talking about... it's not that bad considering I'm running 6s... just a little jerky when taking off.

Although, with the current set up , I was able to take it off a sweet jump at 1:40.

Melons finally got headlights and a new lightbar.
I wired up the led's to a 6v AA battery pack... it worked fine for a moment then I smelled burning and 2 of the lightbar lights went out so I'm going to leave them unplugged for the moment.
The headlights are too big and the driver side one hits my cms. Not sure what to do about that. Maybe I'll make the holes bigger and move the lights forward so they stick out a little. Right now, I had to raise the front of the body a little and slide it forward as much as the sliders will allow.

I also finally got around to cleaning up the rats nest!
I'm going to mount the project box between the rear shock towers and the br-xl in front of it. The box doesn't fit there right now because of my shock tower brace so I ordered VP metal shock towers for the rear... once they get here Buxom Melons will be a lot cleaner... on the inside!

Thanks man!

Well, once again I almost had it until the scale points were added in!
I'm going to need to add some tube work, an interior and a winch if I'm going to take on Badhoopty & his lil' Timmy.

Buxom Melons is running great, I love the Cut N Shut Super Swampers!

picked up some windshield wipers... I haven't installed them yet.
I won't get any extra scale points for them, I already have the 6 nonfunctional points.

A few cell phone pics from today's gtg, the weather was perfect and the river was lower than we've ever seen it... lot's of new terrain to run!

I should have some video to post latter.

Melons got lots of love tonight!

Cleaned up the rest of rat's nest.
Before:

VP Shock towers:

After:

I apparently exposed a wire from the dig servo while tightening the top of the project box last time. I ended up removing the dig today anyway... I hope it's ok now.

When I opened the box, I found some water from Sundays gtg at the river.
I figured the project box wasn't fully watertight so I still wrapped the electronics in a balloon.

I have the balloon sticking out through the notch I cut, hopefully that'll help keep water out... but it's a wrapped up anyway.

And........ I started on an interior!

Definitely put some liquid tape or rtv at the end of the balloon where the wiring goes in and let it dry for a day. A few people had moisture scares or destruction lately using just a balloon. Tiny gaps create big issues. Interior is looking cool.

I used silicon around the opening of in my project box. Also when I seal the lid, I use some dielectric grease.

I've had really good luck running just the balloons. The first few times, I loaded them up with dielectric grease and double bagged them... but recently, I've been running just a single balloon with 2 zip ties.

And thanks, I've wanted to do an interior since I first started building Melons.

I was going to seal it up with dielectric grease but I couldn't find it!

So last night when I posted, it was 2:30 in the morning!
I forgot to add that I dropped the pinion from 11t down to 10t.
I'm looking for a little more low end control.

The spur is a 56t (32p). It's about the biggest that fits in the Axial trans cover... I thought about removing the cover and going back to a standard setup so I could run a larger spur.

I'll see how the 10t pinion does and if it's not enough, I'll have to go bigger with the spur... I also bought a 9t pinion!

I had just run this really fun line perfect and then we decided to record it... of course, I had to reposition 4 times once the camera was running!
At 1:10 you can see just how useful a dig is!

another one... this is a pretty good run. This area is actually really nasty and difficult to navigate. The video doesn't do it justice... it's fun as hell!

I just got back from an all day event today. It was a low turnout so we didn't keep score. Melons tore up the trail though! She performed way better than Hera... had we scored it, I think she would have done very well.

the only video I shot... Melons walking up a slick rock.

and a Wraith for comparison.

I only took 1 pic!... I was having to much fun driving to take pics!

How is the 10t pinion treating you? Get that low end you were looking for?

What did you end up putting in the project box? Clearly not the esc since its on top of it lol.
