Got the windshield done. Hinges made by wrapping carbon cloth around some brass tube. Then with dome Dremel trickery, carved and detailed them.

Thanx. It'll get cleaner, when all the bodywork is faired, prepped, painted, and weathered.

Amazing work buddy. Are you working off a mould for those panels? Do you have any pics of making and removing them? I'm trying something similar, making a glass fibre mould from a Lexan body, and any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, I molded some glass flash molds of the Tamiya body, then cast the panels in a medium that I know. I can't make lexan stick together, as well as I can stick fiber reinforced epoxy together.

Check HERE for some proceedures, and feel free to ask anything there.

Strips started. Made from 2-layer CF plate, epoxy filleted in place. I should have the rest of them finished tonight.

Man I love this thing... Are you going to polish it and leave the carbon look? Or paint it?

When all the body work is done, I will make it look like weathered, rusted steel.

This is an amazing build! I don't know what to say, other then you've got all the major areas of talent needed to build a really great truck covered, and then some. I was impressed after reading just the first page of this thread. I thought the chassis was a work of art, but then you started on the cage, the interior, and now I see the body. Wow, incredible work!

Great build! Cant believe thats a SCX-10! Great to se how you re build the transmission so you have a separate gearbox and transfer case! And your carbon and glas fiber work is great! I can't wait until i get my own SCX10.

Thanx. Been doing it for years, but was out of it for years as well. I told myself when I got back into it, I'm gonna make myself some nice rigs.

A small update. The last of the body-work.

Got the steering wheel done. Once I install the servo for it, and the rest of the steering system, a major thread update on the mentioned body-work will happen.

Check it:

One of the most interesting creative and masterful uses of materials in a RC truck build I've ever seen. You've earned my respect and congratulations you are a master model builder and a amazing craftsman.
