I have made a better latch. Tucked up under the bumper for more clearance, and will not open by accident.

The top of the 3mm bolt, brazed into the bumper:

Especially when your as skilled as you are at tinkering Love the spring latch for your battery, should make switching it out a breeze. Gonna have to start tinkering with that idea myself.

Nice re-work on the battery tray. Sounds like it has plenty of spring in it.

Thanx all. I'm happy how the bat-tray turned out. Took a few attemps, but that's how it goes. The latch spring is pretty strong. Might have to make a slightly softer one, or grow stronger thumb muscles.

Next will be the body-mounts, but ran out of silver braze. It's so pricey.

Your front bumper has given me A TON of ideas of what to do for my JK and I am liking the idea of brazing it straight to the chassis like you did. Like everyone else on here said, absolutely killer metal work man, really really impressive!

Thanx again Guys.

I'm glad my truck is inspiring back. The front bumper came from a mix of these two:

Like said, my plan is to make a truck, as nice as the ones I've seen around these forums (and a coupla others). The metal-work compliments, shows that my truck is headed in the right direction.

Again thanx.

Body mounts made. Took 4.5 hours.

The idea is to have the floor molding of the body, sit on top the washer-areas. The roll cage will have corresponding washes on their bottoms, that will sandwich the body's floor:

Gotta get more silver braze, then fit / braze them onto the chassis.

Great idea and execution on the body mounts...should be pretty stout.
Rig is looking great, very clean work.

excellent fabrication skills!! i can see that tray coming in handy if your lipo decides you need a camp fire on the trails.. lol thats just brilliant! haha or for fun hook a servo to it so when in a comp you can drop some oil down and everyone is screwed!!! lol i bet everyone would get a kick out of that after they kicked your truck off the trail... once again nice work! very inspiring.
