Thanks for the kind words.

Heavy is what I want. Strong and good! If it gets too top heavy, I'm sure the future Metalhead axles will work that out.

Here's some more weight.

Got some progress made on the cage work. I found this very tricky to do, and very hard for me to keep the thing aligned:

The body mount gussets were a pain, but they're stuck on now. Yes I know the silver is slathered on. I'm learning.

I'm pleased with how it's coming along though, and can't wait to drive it. There is a wicked trail behind my flat, that looks awesome now that the surrounding plants are growing it.

Nice cage and mounts! I really like how you ran the cage over the back.
Keeping the pieces where you want them during the brazing process is the tricky part I think.
Looking great...what body are you going to be running?

Yes, I need more third & forth hand clamp tools.

I'll be running FJ40 panels. Plan on doing them composite. When all the steel work is done, I'll get on with them. Floor panelling will be first, but have to wait for the Splitskid before I start that.

Nice call on the split skid man...I was really close to ordering one as well. Looking forward to seeing it installed.

I just was check'n your yellow Hilux truggy. Amazing details fella.
Digging the motor reduction. The one I have chosen seems frail-ish. I hope it stands up.

I wanted to do my bumpers, with the same method you did. It was too much for me, so I just used 90-deg angle steel.

i was pointed here from someone giving you props in their build thread. killer work, i especially liked the GRU mount and the shock mounts. i can't get over that battery tray and dang those sliders are sweet.

i guess i could go on and on. you have a true talent for making things not only look good, but highly functional as well.

thanks for the pics, keep updating often.

Holy compliments. I'm going to be walking around like this, with my inflated ego:

Bit of an update.

Got me some Metalhead axles, Mip drive-shafts, and Robinson tranny gears.

Hung the axles, except for the upper 4-links. Note that I brazed the mounts on backwards. Oh well, it's all practice...

Rig is getting real heavy, and these axles will help keep it rubber-side-down:

Oh ya.

Changed up the mount for the tranny, and have it installed. I'm waiting for one more MIP shaft, to connect it to the transfer case. That will be a milestone for the build (Drivetrain a complete roller), then I'll post some pics.

It's a first attempt, so many of doing things over, as I learnt to do them. Been working on it since January. Not straight, but here and there when I can.
