Started to finish the second set of wheel wells. This time I made the fenders out of one strip of styrene. Clamped and glued. Used some heat to help with the bends. I kept them clamped while applying heat and then let cool. When the glue set, I went back over the seams with thick crazy glue. Adding the strip of cut inner tube rubber to fender well with the thick glue. |

Finally got the second set of wheel wells done. I found that installing with a power driver or just over tighten with hand tool, the screw holding the styrene to the shock tower will push through the plastic. Shock tower is recessed for flat head screw. You'll see that I added washers which are a little bit wider than the recessed screw hole. I would like to put in a plug for Tony's Screws, very good prices and fast shipping. Here are some side by side shots |

Sorry for no new posts lately. Been very sick and just haven't the energy to doing anything or concentrate on these. I'm ready to paint the second Dingo so I might do it real soon. Did a lot surf'n on the site and saw a lot of good stuff being done. Makes me want to expand my talents.

Finally got the base coat paint on second Dingo. I painted the inside and the yellow coat will be on the outside. I going to trim some of the outside overspray film to allow some of the black to show through on the interior. Found some cool driver and passenger heads to go with this rig. |

Well, my driver is so pleased that his rig is all painted up! I'm sure he's smiling under that helmet. It's not the best paint job, but it's good enough for a trail rig that will get used. |

I took a sharp blade and trimmed the overspray film and peeled it off everywhere you see yellow. The black you see is the undercoat and that's why is has a good shine. Still need to do some touch up and mount his navigator. |

I got the Drivers in thier rigs now. Yellow Dingo is ready to have the grill and light bezels installed. Then I'll get the lighting installed. I forgot I had an old adjustable monitor arm, so I dug it out and used it hold my laptop. Work area has taken shape lately. Last edited by juswin24; 01-13-2013 at 06:45 PM. |
