I can't believe there has been no feedback on the video I posted with the aluminum brazing...

Aluminum? I've only seen steel/brake line etc

Brazing Video - short and simple is a good video.

I watched the video and will be trying it on mine. Just picked up my scx10 yesterday. Can't wait to use some of your ideas.

Well, small update. I changed the shock oilfrom a 30wt to 15w. I hope that helps soften up the suspension a bit. Probably premature to do so considering that the Jeep hasn't been driven yet, but I'm a pretty decent judge by feel, and it felt a little stiff for this light rig. I'll most likely nd up putting softer springs on it also. Afterall, this is supposed to be a rock crawler.

Styrene is cool. That's all I can say. Its easy to score, easy to glue, and I can see alot of potential in a friendly product like this. Needing a new floorboard and dash, I started by tracing the floorboard hole onto a piece of white cardboard for rough measurements.

After making some measurements, I started with my first pieces. Did I mention that this stuff is easy to work with? Simple scoring with a blade...

Snap it off (just like scoring and snapping tile)

And hold the pieces together and add the solvent/bonding agent. Give it a few seconds and its already welded enough to leave alone. Curing time is 30 minutes, but I did not need to stop working on mine to wait. I built this little section in 10 minutes:

A few pieces later, I had my new floor board/ arm console:

Odd, I had to put 60wt in my stock shocks. The 30wt supplied next to no damping even with super soft springs. They may as well have been empty. With the 60wt the damping is still quite a bit less than the larger Losi shocks I have on the rear with 35wt. I keep things at a creeping pace and like the slower controled travel.

I had to travel to Boston for work purposes, so I'm not able to work on the TJ this week. I'll get back to it when I get back home. I'm sitting in my hotel right now, wishing I was home working on it.

are you planning to use the plastruct to bond the console and tunnel to the main body. I have seen where people say that it wont bond to the abs they use in these new bright bodies.

Actually I used the Plastruct bonding agent and it worked pretty good. It definitely wasn't the strongest bond, but considering the limited contact patch the the adhesive actually is bonded to, it held well enough. I actually had to remove it today to do other things and I was able to rip it out by hand. But I could tell that it had enough hold for anything I would ever throw at it.

So I finally made it back from Boston and had just a little bit of time to work on the jeep. I wanted to remake that front bumper with Ficker aluminum so what I did was use a thicker piece for the baseplate, and then reused the tubing that I had made for the previous bumper. I went ahead and added a special place for the Winch hook.

So it's been a while since I was able to work on the jeep and I wanted to get as much done today as I could. Besides getting the front bumper done I really wanted to get the roll cage finished. I had spent a lot of time sitting in the hotel room in Boston thinking about this and that I wanted to get it finished as soon as I got home. Here is where it sits now. I have a little more grinding to do and then paint but so far I'm happy with the overall result.

So please give me some feedback! I'm very curious to hear what you guys think of the work that I've done so far.

Nice work with the ammullamum, hehe. Depending on how easy that aluminum bent, I'd maybe look to add some more support.
