NEW TIRES: Vaterra Interco Super Swamper TSL

Got my new tires in today, WOW these thing are insane!! They were a little difficult to mount on the axial beadlocks however they mounted up to the Proline titus a little easier. I think it's the dual stage foam being quite wide that makes it difficult to mount.

The compound of them feels brilliant as well, sticky and pliable. The dual stage foams are decent as well which is great

The size is perfect in my opinion, the diff clearance is a big plus. Also with them being a larger diameter, the low speed control is so much better.

Overall I am super happy with them and can't wait to try them out on the trail.

Comparison to Proline TSL.

Aggressive side wall

On the truck mounted to axial 1.9 beadlocks

I had to test them, this is the same log/rock climb in the previous lot photos only it's wet from some recent rain. I was expecting them to be slipping a sliding but NO!! These things climbed it better in the wet than the Proline TSL's did in the dry!! Absolutely no wheel spin, the truck walked right up

A little bit of trimming is going to be needed but I expected there would be. My Gmade sr02 should be here either tomorrow or Monday.

Thanks for looking

Thanks man, yeah gun metal looks great on anything

NEW WHEELS: Gmade SR02 black

Got my new wheels today, fantastic quality and super easy to mount the tires to once I perfected the technique. Took no longer than 5-10 minutes per corner. I know I said I was getting the silver ones but they weren't in stock so I got black instead, I'm quite glad the silver ones weren't in stock haha

Even lip all the way round

Overall I couldn't be happier with the look of my truck. Also within the next couple weeks I will be gathering parts to make the move over to 3s LIPO, super stoked with that!!

Thanks for looking

Took the truck out the other day with my cousin, unfortunately the stock servo in his gave up the ghost so he's now got a nice new Savox waterproof jobby. He's also got the Proline 2 door Dodge Ram body that needs painting and mounting, he's loving this hobby

Anyway on to the Comanche, by next weekend I will be buying the bits for the 3s LIPO conversion. Here's what I intend on buying, can't wait!!
Novak Eiger Pro Crawler Brushed Esc And Bec Unit
Team Orion Rocketsport 3200mAh 25C 11.1V LiPo Pack (2)
Team Orion Advantage One 406 AC/DC 50W NiMh/LiPo Charger
Core RC Pinion Gear 48DP 16T (7075 Hard)
Core RC Pinion Gear 48DP 15T (7075 Hard)
DEANS PLUG WITH GRIPS (1 MALE/1 FEMALE)

And here are some pictures

Thanks for looking

Went and picked up my new bits from my LHS today after work, super excited for the weekend to get this all plumbed in I will be ordering some new HD Axial ring and pinion for both axles as well, thinking I will go overdrive in the front and standard in the rear.

Here's some pictures of my new bits

Pinions, gear down volt up I think the saying goes

Got a new 80w soldering Iron as well

Got two 3s batteries for those long trail runs

I thought this was cool, the batteries come with a Vennom Uni Plug so I don't need to solder the deans connectors on, WIN

Charger, need to learn how to use this thing

The new Novak Eiger Pro ESC

Novak BEC included with it

This thing is small compared to the trusty Rooster ESC it is replacing

Representing!!

Stripped down ready for the conversion

Thanks for looking and keep an eye an out over the weekend for the install update

Edit: Just ordered Axial HD ring and pinions, got standard gear ratio for both axles simply because the Over Drive set wasn't in stock. Should be here within a few days seeing as they're on a 24 hour courier service

Got everything plumbed in last night.

ESC battery wires and BEC wires soldered to the deans connector. BEC plugged into the bind port of the receiver and red wire removed form the ESC to receiver.

I wanted the BEC to go in the electronics box, that meant that the light controller unit has to live outside, it got a generous amount of electrical tape.

Made a bracket to mount to the gearbox to rotate the axial cable holder 90 degrees, This also gets the deans connector in the air away from water and dirt/dust.

Left switch turns the BEC/servo on and the Right switch turns the ESC on.

Ready for her maiden voyage.

I've been running it around the house using the 16t pinion with 87t spur (35 turn motor) and it seems pretty good. Low speed control is great and top end speed is more than enough, it's quite fun actually!! Everything runs cool which is a bonusIt's also extremely smooth.

I set the drag brake to it's maximum setting, had to go on the Novak website to work out how to change it's setting. Very easy to do with the touch setting Novak uses.

The charger is brilliant, easy to use and the battery does not increase in temperature what so ever.

Overall i'm really happy that I have finally made the move over to LIPO batteries, 3S ones an all!! Just got to wait for the HD ring and pinions and this truck for once will not need any parts for a long while....hopefully!!

Anyway thanks for looking

Got my Axial HD ring and pinions today (standard gearing front and rear). Really nice quality and I like that the pinion and output is all one piece. Being helical cut they mesh very nice indeed. Got them fitted this evening so here are some pictures

Made some pins for the CV joints as the original ones were very worn, I made them out of a drill bit of the same diameter

I have also neatened up the wiring and managed to fit the light controller in the radio box.

Can't wait to go test it all out

So the drill bit pin idea wasn't working, I have now ordered new axial universal joints and some axial 12mm hex hubs

Some of you may have noticed I have bought a substantial amount of parts recently, the reason being is because I have got a full time job now, my first one ( I'm 18 ) so I finally have a nice income coming in

Anyway thanks for looking

Got the truck out today and I am speechless... This whole 3s lipo battery business is no joke, the truck literally went everywhere I pointed it!! Nothing broke however the pins in my drive shafts kept baking out so I have put my 3racing shafts on, problem solved

Here are the pictures from today

Flexing

I hope you enjoyed these pictures

Got more new bits and also rebuilt my motor, I'll be needing a new one of those soon

Axial Universals

These are a lot more beefy than my old 3racing ones

New Hubs and Pins

I have also trimmed the wheel arches, no more wheel rub

Thanks for looking and please by all means like and comment

Thumbs up Re: Axial SCX10 Jeep Chero-Manche

The trimmed flares look very well done, I would like to do this to mine but I'm terrified to ruin them! how did you get the corners so smooth and natural looking? I'd like to open mine up like that rather than trim the corners.

Thanks man. I used masking tape as a cut line so i remove pretty much the same off each arch. I used some sharp scissors to cut the 5-6mm off all the way round the arch and then used my dremmel to neaten everything up. If you don't have a dremmel, some sand paper wrapped around a cylindrical object does the same job. I then tapered the bottom of the arches.

What's your track width with the new rims? I just ordered 2 sets. I really like the look. I hope they will clear my 8 degree vanquish knuckles

Outside tire to outside tire is 220mm
Inside tire to inside tire is 142mm

They are a nice wheel especially for how little money they are.

If you want anymore info just ask mate and i'll try help you out
