Spent Saturday evening and the whole of today making a CMS conversion. I don't think it could have gone any better, I'm so happy I managed to do this!! Everything cycles smoothly, no bump-steer, nothing rubs and cost nothing

Standard servo plate bolts to shock hoop and the 3rd hole on the front of the chassis

Panhard axle bracket

Panhard chassis bracket

Had to put a kink in the panhard bar to clear the axle under full compression and I can't put an aluminum sleeve on it as there is no room!!

Both links are the same length (86mm) and are the same angle

With tires on

Back together

Thanks for looking and any feedback is much appreciated

Made a new top link bracket. The reason being as I wasn't getting full suspension compression as the servo horn would make contact with the plastic top link bracket, so I had to add bump stops to the shocks. But now with my new home brew bracket I get full suspension movement and plenty of clearance.

I was looking at aftermarket CMS 3 link kits and noticed the top link goes almost straight from the chassis, so replicated it with my mount

After a few hours of tinkering, i've got this setup pretty much dialed in can not see any difference in performance form an axle mounted servo and 4 link setup apart from it looks so nice

Just so you all know, this was all made with basic hand tools and eye ball engineering haha

Please like and comment by all means and thanks for looking

Made a new top link mount, bent the original (prototype) one on a trail run the other day. So with this new one I left a lot more material on it

Coomparison the other one, much much better haha

Thanks for looking and sorry for the complete lack of updates recently

Happy Easter people

Got the truck out today, had an Easter family walk and we went to a new place, such a great variety of terrain. My cousin came a long as well.

Had some issues with the truck, one of my shock caps came off, turned out the cap thread and shock body thread were knackered so I swapped a good cap from the left side shock over, this worked but I have now ordered some 100mm king shocks to go on the front now. The other issue is my motor has finally worn out, been going for 3 years now so i can't complain, I have now ordered the same motor again.

Anyway onto some pictures

Oh yeah I sprayed my CMS conversion parts

Easter trail run pictures

Dodge Ram was no match for the Comanche

Next update will be new motor and new shock install

Thanks for looking, comments and likes are much appreciated

I have noticed a lack of interest in my build thread for a while now

Thanks man, i guess i should remember just because no-one comments don't mean they aren't interested. I went with some RC4WD 100mm king shocks to go on the front to eliminate the one bad proline shock. If i like them i may go for a full set.

New shocks and motor arrived today. These shock are master pieces and have nice performance. The new motor is emense, so much more responssive than the old one and has a lot more speed to it, dropped down to a 15t pinion.

Comparison to Proline powerstroke scaler

Used 40w oil

On the truck

Mandatory flex picture, these shocks give more down travel but have the same compression as the PL's

Tell me what you think, thanks

I know you now run the vaterra TSL tires, but how did you find the smaller proline ones? I'm thinking of picking up a set..

those rc4wds look like they perform way better. I feel like I'm using way to stiff an oil. how much does your rig weigh? I'm at 7lbs and I feel like 80wt is way to much. I'm tempted to try 40wt.

I highly recomend them, i ended up getting some better foams for mine as the stock gave very little sidewall support. Great all rounder just lacked in clearance under the gigantic axial pumpkins

These shocks are nice, gonna mess around with them later to get the dampening how i want. Yeah 80w is a lot for a crawler (in my opinion), 40w seems like a great all rounder. Never weighed my truck but I'm guessing around 8lbs or something haha

Yo guys, done some work to the Comanche over the weekend. Made an entire new front winch bumper out of 2.5mm plate steel, this thing is ridiculously strong. Mounted up my Proline titus wheels and love the look, they gave me a wider stance over the Gmades and with being so light the truck feels more nimble and responsive. Finally I mounted up 'dingo roll cage' snorkel

Picture time

Basic bumper components

Drilled, bent and bolted up

Winch tray, should be plenty big enough

On truck pictures

Thought I would show y'all the new ride height and full suspension drop

Messing around, loving how capable this truck is

Thanks for looking guys, tell me what you think

Love the look of the new winch bar, suits so well

I like how you always make do with the tools of materials you have available, most people that couldn't braze or weld would just buy something off the shelf but this is a such a nice sleek bar and it just bolts together! Simple.

Keep it up bro

New bumper looks great Sp3cial-K is right on be proud you built it and it looks better than a lot of off the shelf stuff even if it isn't welded or brazed together

Thanks man, yeah it's easy buying something and bolting it on but to me i really don't enjoy that, yeah the fit and finish might be better but i like the challenge of making things myself and to my own/trucks specification.

Glad you like the bumper, just got to get a winch now and make a similar bumper for the back

Thanks for the kind words, i think this thing is stronger than any brazed tube bumper as well, took all my weight to bend the steel in the vice!! The chassis will probably bend before this does haha

I'll have to add my dremmel made this a whole lot easier to make, i was (still am) suprised how well it came out

Whipped up a rear bumper after work today. Unlike the old one i made this one so it wraps around the body. Still needs some tweaking but overall i happy with it and it now kinda matches the front.

Two piece design

Slight bit of body trimming required for the top piece

Thanks for looking and hope you like it

Looking great! I've never been a huge Comanche fan, but your version has changed my thinking a bit.

Nice work, and I really enjoy your thread. Sorry I don't comment more often.

Thanks Steve, glad you like it. Not to worry man and I've noticed you've commented on almost all my build threads, and to be fair i hardly ever comment on other peoples builds haha
