My wraith has a similar cage mod but the upper bars you cut off are just bent down and screwed into the side of the bed area bars.

Up to this point I have not ran the roof on it. I did cut the roof short so that I could run it if I so pleased but I'm not sure that I will. I may make an aluminum roof and add the EXO rear light bar at a later date.

I didn't want to use the the method you mentioned for the chassis mod because if I go to a DMG Stiffy kit down the road I want the remaining pieces to be completely intact.

tho i wish i would have waited to get the poison spider wraith the other isnt bad but iam glad your covering a budget build i think the gmade shocks would be a great choice for your build at 31 bucks a pair!

I have been looking at them as a possibility. I have some Proline Powerstrokes on hand but they are pretty expensive and could put a good dent in the budget. The 103mm Piggybacks are listed as $29.99 through RPP so only $10 over the weekly budget.

However I am trying to wait on the shocks for a little while. The servo needs to be replaced soon, it's getting sloppy and I know it's just going to let go on me. I'm carrying one with me this weekend incase I need to change it while I'm out hiking. I am still running stock knuckles, stock C's, and the stock motor is only going to last so long.


I made another purchase today for this series


After that I am thinking the shocks will be soon after.

This would be my first truck, so I got few questions... hope you can answer them:
Is the Spyder new Wraith is preferable than the old Wraith?
The 3S over the 2S is to get a only better speed? Are there any crawling increased capabilities?
Is the stock AX-3 TX is good enough? I was driving my friend's Wraith with the AX-3, and it felt very sensitive when trying to crawl very slow, like it lucks the EXPO.

The new PSC version comes with beadlocks which is nice.

It does not include the lights that the original did

The Jeep body is personal preference, but it does not allow for easy under the hood access when you relocate the battery.

The 3s battery is just my preference, I run 3s in everything and own very few 2s packs.

The stock radio works fine but does not have much for adjustments. I prefer to use my nice Futaba controllers but if you don't already have them it is a moderately expensive investment.

Doweling is fine too but you can't access the screw if you need to service them without cutting them off.

I sleeved my WB8 stock driveshafts with 0.228" OD CF tube, glued in with drop of CA....just insert the screw before gluing in the CF tube and then they are easily serviceable. The CF tube was only about $12 for a four foot peice that will do many shafts.

I won't be using any of the "Droop kits", but I may lower the suspension with shocks.
