They are ok, they use a 3mm thread instead of the substantially stronger 4mm. They will hold up in most circumstances, when you start to get really hard on the truck is when you will run the risk of stripping the rod ends out.

I have not seen any lights installed into the body yet that look very good. The original RTR had light buckets that were not integrated into the body so it was a much easier install. With the Jeep body it would take substantially more work.

TCScrawlers.com carries a Yeah Racing light kit that is a nice piece, but you would have to come up with your own light buckets. Installing the LED's right into the body will not look good.

Excellent thread. Thank you Harley for all your work. Im currently taking my old basket kit wraith and giving it a new lease on life as a C3 rig.

Thanks man. I switched out my full custom scale rig for a built up Wraith chassis. So much more capable!

The new video goes live at midnight central time tonight!

Liking the weekly videos.

I've always thought of a closed down mini golf course would make for an awesome rock racing course. The closest shut down one to me is a 45 minute drive though.

It was a good time, it's not far from my parent's place at all so next time I'm down there I'll likely have to hit it again.

Harley, what are pros/cons of using the RTR lower links in back for cage triangulation versus cutting, heating and bending the upper cage bars down and drilling hole, screwing together the cage?

Here's how I did mine

Also looks like you cut out same thickness as link end to sandwich it between two parts of the cage?

I'm pretty sure he said he avoided that way so he could add a stiffy kit down the road.

I didn't want to add any holes to the side pieces for strength reasons. Down the road I will be doing a Stiffy Kit on this truck for sure. At that time I don't want to have any past effects from those mods.

So your new stiffy chassis outperforms the jimmy's rig?

Yes, night and day. The Jimmy's rig was a scale truck built for scale appearance. The Stiffy truck was more performance oriented.

The Hit & Run, not this one. Yes, completely performance while still not affecting the scale style.

Thanks for your reply, the side holes I drilled have not been a problem (yet anyways) and I'm pretty hard on my Wraith with all the steep and long falls it has taken. Front bumpers don't last long lol. My Wraith right side frame (AX8008 is almost broken through at rear where the screw attaches it to the rear piece AX80077.

I'm sure it would be just fine like you're running it. However after I put a stiffy kit on and those holes are open, it will become a weak point.

Today's project was not directly related to this build but will still have a big effect on my end of the videos.

I wanted to get rid of the need for my large tripod when I'm shooting at the bench. I have wanted to build an overhead trolly system for a couple months, so today was the day. It only ended up taking me a few hours to get everything done.
