Good luck getting ahold of axial now that communications go through hobbico. They took 2 weeks to respond to me and were no help the last time I emailed them.

I received an email response from Hobbico...

The email was a notification that my issue had been resolved.. except I didnt receive any other communication, only that my ticket was opened and now resolved (the automated ones).

I've just re-opened that support case, told them i was displeased with the above and asked how they were going to rectify the issue for me.

It would be nice for them to at least acknowledge me.. such poor customer service

I went through three sets. Always the short shaft. I figured it was my fault(too much steering angle, too much torque). Seeing I'm not the only one now. I did the math and figured VP was my only choice.

Finally got a response

"Thank you for your recent email.

I've forwarded your message for review to our Axial Represenative for
information. He has not responded back yet. However, I will certainly will
email you back once he responds."

Not what I wanted to hear but at least we have a start.....

By all means they should have held up to almost everyone posting in this thread, but it sounds like you go lucky and either got something new or something old.

Just want to ask if anyone has any suggestions for replacement shafts since the issues with the axial shafts?

I have always like the Axial shafts but the new lower price on the VP VVD's as well as the strength upgrade makes them great choice now.

Yes, agreed VP shafts are a performer. Although it would be nice if the axial shafts held up as they did in the past.

Are there any modification needed to run the vp vvd's? And do you know what vvd stands for? Vanquish velocity driveshafts?

No modifications at all unless you get the 5mm stub shafts which I don't really find needed.

Vanquish Velocity Drive.

Going to be running a MMP and a Tekin ROC412 3100kv sometimes on 3s mostly 2s should I have any issues with the VVD's?

Ran mine on a Pro4 with 3s and sometimes 4s for about 2 years before I had any issues. And that was with the old design. The new design is much improved and 30% cheaper.

I know it's far from the right answer but if you bought a new pair of universals and broke the short side, could you cut down the long side and grind a new tang? Might get you by until Axial gets the issue resolved.
