It really has nothing to do with being gentle. I have a jig and a press so its super consistent. Keep in mind I take apart OFNA shafts all day long too and have never broken one. I buy from a vendor that buys directly from Axial. I constantly run them out of stock so I know my parts have not been on the shelf, at least through them, maybe Axial but its the latest and greatest from Axial for sure. |

I just ordered a set from amain. On a side note. I want to thank everyone on this thread. I was getting ready to order the axial ones because they come recommended before I saw this thread. I would rather spend the extra money and not worry about that part anymore. Why else spend extra money right? Anyway, thanks! |

The axial ones are still recommended, they just had a bad batch get through. I have a strong feeling that everyone who used to recommend the axials will still recommend the axials. Myself included. |

A solid axled Exo Terra with 5.75" tires, 4S LiPO, weighed about 10 lbs and had a 6.5T sensored brushless motor and the joint handled just fine. Shoot, I didn't even have to replace the axle shaft when I broke my axle housing in half after a bad landing. | |

I just got my new Axial universals yesterday! Mine broke in January. They broke before I drove the truck. I had my receipt and sent pictures to axial. They were out of them so I had to wait for the new ones to be made. They look the same.

Welp I've beat the crap out of mine a few good times. Got my steering set so my TSL XS just rub the lower links in reverse. At that I have full powered out of loose dirt and sand. Used good judgment powering out of rocks and roots and pushed against a wall on pavement. Mud runs also. So far holding up very well. |

I've had mine in the Wraith for about 6 months now. No worries! Mostly crawling with some bashing every now and then. |

hahahaha. While everybody is still breaking parts and buying more from axial hoping they get a axial universal to work just so they can say they didn't go with VP and it works. still running my first set of vp vvd's and no problems and I drive with no caution and now that I got this new Holmes 540xl motor that is stronger than a pro4hd I use the throttle like a jackass. Still going strong and I crashed really hard 3 times this last week getting to excited. yesterday I crashed so damn hard I ripped the servo right out the mount and broke the ears right off the servo gonna go with all aluminum servo now. Holmes I guess is taking over the SUPER 300's but its gonna be a few months before product is released so I will just stick with my vvd's for now. My son like sto crash into stuff at full speed and watch the wraith get tossed (hahaha) and his are still doin good too. I hate to say it but vp makes a decent product. |

broke a XR shaft end of last week, it was new stock from RPP. I also have seen a few break in the past few weeks, none do to abuse. I emailed them to see if I could get an exchange. looks like the issue may not be resolved. My scx will be getting VVD,s as soon as they have them back in stock.
