Yeah...we're talkin the difference between a buncha LCC's & a few older 7lb Bergs tryin to getta run at this thing & todays rigs. Im sure even with a well built XR...It isn't an EASY climb but like ol Tomer said...probably a lot more doable.

Jake knows that desert like the freckles on his....um...hand so Im SURE he's got another gnarly bounty something or other for us.

If your club hasn't done this...its a blast. I think we did $1.00 buy ins? Ya get ONE shot. 1st penalty & your turns over. The pot grew FAST & it was fun to cheer, laugh & get pissed at the failed attempts. Jake also threw in a set of Boss Claws to sweeten the pot. Not sure what the cash made it up to but it was a stack of bills & even a pile of quarters as cats started emptying their ashtrays. Good times. BTW...After everyone had tried & failed multiple times...Jake showed that it COULD be done...with his COMP CRAWLER.

And there is always option two...
SO . . . how is testing going?

Lmao. thats just stupid. He makes it look so dang easy. We need to post the videos of the 20 other guys who back flipped that 10 times in a row. Also a side view of the actual incline would give a lot better perspective.

I could get that climb probably 3 out of 10 tries with the RT, but 9 out of 10 tries with the agent. After this weekend's test session with joel, tomer, and doncrawla, I think I have the agent pretty well tuned in.

Look for some pictures and maybe a little video tonight

I actually switched back to a set of AL bodied scx10 shocks this weekend. The big bores are still smoother, but I missed the ability to dial in preload the way I can with the scx shocks. I ended up limiting the shocks quite a bit more then I had been running, and this helped with downhill/off camber stability. Once I limited the shocks, the rig needed more front weight. I ended up with 2.5oz per knuckle, and the truck felt awesome.

For some comp sites with twisty sections I think I will be able to pull out some of the shock limiting and drop the added weight. Even with the knuckle weights the truck ended up just under 4lbs, but with massive forward bias.

Thanks. Sounds like you've got a great setup nailed down. I need to take more weight off my rc4wd rear gears.
So are you running something closer to a 70/30 forward bias with your links?

Here's how it sits as of tonight

I still think there's a ton of untapped potential in this rig, but its coming along quite well. With this shock/link setup, it transfers a lot more weight rearward and puts down a lot of traction. The rear upper links are 1/8" Ti bent and tapped for 6-32 threads. I finally had to ditch my straight tube rear upper links because I couldn't get enough compression in the rear suspension without them hitting the motor or crossmember. I still would like a little more rear compression, but this is a big improvement over the last setup.

Here's the current shock setup:

Front

45wt Oil
9mm external limiters
Mini-T silvers

Rear
45wt oil
12mm internal limiter
3mm external limiter
Mini-T silvers

Even with the big limiters, I still have a little over a tire's height of travel at full flex. With the limited wheel travel, the truck doesn't work quite as good without added weight.
