Ahh decisions... LOL picked up this 4PKS for $250 with a 614FF, Case, And Charger... Really good condition and I just couldn't pass it up...
That's a great deal! You will like it a lot. Just be sure to glue a "nipple" on your dig button. (I don't have a pic right now, but I'll take one tonight)

Hey mate. Now you tuning and programing youy new radio. A tip Hulksta once gave me that is good and as you using MSW's i thought might be worth doing if you usibg Harleys vid thread to help program is.

When setting the proportional increments of the variable drive, instead of using 10% increments use 5% with the MSW's as you get better fine control. I used it after Dan advissed me and it helps alot.

OK so got a question... Put in the new RX programmed up the 4PKS according to Harley's guide but now I gotta a few problems... First I turned it back on and the servo is jittering slightly and it got really hot in less than 30 seconds (so hot I could burn my hand on it) Also the rear motor isn't working... It's acting like it's in dig when it's not anyone know what the problem is?

Thanks

When you armed the esc's did you do both together or front tand rear seperatly?

Some people for some reason where others dont need to have a common negative bond to prevent a jittering servo

Try doing it with just the rear esc. So its the only one being controlled. I and a mate had an issue with a MSW where the rear wouldnt arm correctly. By isolating the front you only worrying about one esc.

When you first turned it on did you push the front dig button as the radio will only signal th channel until you push the button. Hope this makes sense.

Yeah I did that when I turned it on... I'll try what Ben said and hopefully that'll fix it... But if you guys have other ideas keep em coming in case one doesn't work

Also one thing... When adjusting variable dig on mine it's reversed so it only works when in reverse but not forward... How do I reverse that so it works when it's forward?

You gotta great deal but since you already have & know the 4PL...why not sell the PK & make a little extra cheddar on the side?

BTW I have no idea whats wrong with your setups. I follow Josh's thread & its always worked fine for me. Did you get some play-dough on it or maybe when you were playin GI Joes, you dropped it on your Toy Story bed & it broke when it hit your Mickey Mouse slippers. Ha! Ya kid!!!!

I've thought about that so we'll see... My 4PL isn't working right now though anyways so that's why I was putting in the 614...

I have no idea... I'm thinking I'll try setting it up again and see if I missed something And noo never had a themed kid bed Ha! Ya Adults!!!

I would try a new receiver, the servo getting really hot kinda scares me...
I run the hobbyking receivers for my 4pk and I haven't had any problems.

Here is a picture of the "nipple" that you glue onto the dig button

Ok... I'll try this RX again and see what happens... I ran the RX in a different truck yesterday with absolutely no issues... My bro was thinking my BEC might be overvolting the servo...

Cool I'll try it how it is and if I need it I'll put one on

Ok so got it all back together again and everything works but the servo... (Thanks Ben for the advice about arming it individually that fixed the ESC problems ) The servo still jitters though... It got warm but not hot... Could it be the RX? Or maybe BEC overvolting it?

Did you try making a common negative between the esc's, servo and bec. I did'nt have to do this. Others i know have had to. I dont know why some rigs are effected and others not.

Quick update... Haven't gotten the servo issue fixed cause I haven't had time as I am now working over the summer but still getting mail and got these in the mail 1.9 Rovers Made into 2.2's... Pitbull Rock Beast II sidewalls on it with custom C.I. DD Foams. Comp Cut inners with soft outers front and medium outers rear... Rusty (Rockpayne) needed some motors from me so we worked out a deal for the motors for some 3 piece wheels so I'll be putting these on about .6" wheels... Looking forward to trying them I still need to make the 2nd pair when I get a chance...

I flipped the pics but they are still showing up sideways for some stupid reason

I was just talking to CI about foams. I asked if comp inners with soft outers in the front and medium in the rear would be good and he told me soft rears and medium fronts. You seem to think like me...
