I'm with you on that!! I enjoy the building and creating aspect just as much if not more than driving the rig. I try to make as much stuff as I can myself, I don't have that sweet CNC machine you have though so it's dremel and bench grinder for this ole' chap! Again awesome work and I may be doing some of the same comps as you this summer so I may have to bring a fist full of cash with me to grab some of these cool carbon parts from you!!

Tried pretty much the same thing about 3yrs ago now only I did 7mm shafts with 8mm stubs (same as my Berg version).

The tangs would never hold up as they were the minor diameter and therefore the weak point. I think youre going to have to modify the final gear and the shaft if you want them to hold. Even stock Berg tangs are quite a bit bigger and I had some issues with them.

That was my worry when I was thinking about these. Got thinking about them after seeing your Berg ones.

I cheated on the Tangs ..... I cut the stock XR shafts and Loctite them into the shafts.

If it holds, great .... if it doesn't then back to the board lol.

Huh, stock tangs is an interesting twist for sure! I think if you can get that to hold, youre really on to something.

Ok so been busy both on the machine and the rig and got some big progress between today and yesterday.

First ... soon to come .... C-Class CF glue ons. We'll be venturing into these as well. Little teaser for now while we work the details out and bring them public.

Vs the G10 Snowflakes we have out testing.

So two redbulls ready last night I started with this

Pulled out some balance plug ends and they fit perfect, only problem was a little lip causing them to sit too high

Little lathe quickie

And some soldering

Im on my way ..... only to realize I got no shrink wrap or battery plugs. Great redbulls at 8pm and no shrink wrap, this wasnt good. But got up early and hit up my LHS in Enfield (RC Madness) and got the lose ends tied up.

Everything set, in place and calibrated .......
You know you've forgotten a lot of things when you pull forward throttle and the truck gos backwards. Ya rebuilt the motors 2 years ago to sell and put the endbells on backwards. Well that was a big to me as it jumped off the bench and took half of everything with it.
But it runs - it rolls - and it stands on its own ...... now for the diet gears to come back and the nostalgic look to reappear. Heres some stances outside for now ......

Oh and belly at ride height .....

More to come this week - hoping to roll her on some rocks some night this week.

Thanks for looking

Really hope your up and running for next weekend.. The next four weeks could be some of the best crawling we've seen in some time. ---- no pressure -- the rig looks great and what do they say about riding a bike.........

I like to have 6 holes to mount the wheel to the hub
