Stoked to see you got one of the mf01 kits!!!

After being an Android lover from the beginning I grew tired of all the downfalls and I went to the dark side mainly for better photo quality. iPhone XS Max in 256GB flavor.

Check your color balance, most will seem blue/yellow compared to your android

It's all relative. Without having anything to compare it to it looks fine. Only when you hold it up against other phones do you notice weird things. Same goes for the photos.

I will say that the "True Tone" option on this iPhone does a nice job of adjusting colors to what they should be. Without this turned on the whites are very cool/blue.

Ordered a shoulder brace after a nasty fall while running the other morning due to the street lights being out, and never being replaced in this podunk shit hole. Tripped over a tree limb, and went down hard on my knee, then of course extended my arm to catch me instead of face planting at 6AM on the sidewalk. I've had one shoulder surgically repaired, so I'm really hoping this will heal on it's own. Right now the pain, and the noises it's making take me back to '08.

More sponges... it starts to get expensive when you're not sure where to begin with the tire tuning... These feel like they over filled the Vanquish tires and really don't seem any softer to the touch than the stock VP foams.

Samsung is a big part of the reason I've been turned off from Android. I've have had a Galaxy and Note as my last 2 Android phones. Cameras were much worse than the hype or any iPhone I've compare the photos to, TouchWiz sucks, and the phones never got OS updates.

My needs from a phone have changed over the years and now the camera is one of the most important features to me. iPhone has always been near the top. The Pixel 2 is really the only mainstream Android phone to come close. I was considering a Pixel 3, but Google's antics are another reason I went with Apple.

Google randomly kills good apps or changes them for the worse like the recent WTF interface change on Chrome. And then Google admitted to remotely charging settings on phones which is just unacceptable. I'm not foolish enough to think there's any privacy on cell phones, but Google just crossed a line IMO.

I'm not suddenly an Apple fanboy or anything, but I'm going to give it a fair shot. iOS is behind Android in terms of features (the "new" Shortcuts app has been on Android in the form of the Tasker app for probably close to a decade just as one example). iOS even lags behind in usability in some ways, but it's better in different ways and the camera smokes my Android phones so I'm happy right now.

ill be the first to admit, my S5 camera sucks. especially in back lite, and unusual lighting which all my pics are. my wifes S7 is better for sure. and dads 9+ is pretty damn awesome. i like photography and the 2x optical is a big deal to me.

If not for wanting good photos I'd probably still be on Android. I still think Android is a better design. I mean if I want to change options in an app I do that in the app. On iOS all of the app settings and everything else is in the Settings app. That makes absolutely no sense to me and it's counter intuitive, but it's how they do things.

Most of my photos are of my hobbies, like RC, and when you're out on the trail you are often faced with the sun in the background or shadowy conditions. My phone had a really hard time dealing with either of these things. In my limited experience this is where the iPhone really excels. I did some back to back testing with my Note and my iPhone at home and the iPhone just destroys it. In good sunlight the difference is much less.

The iPhone's 2X optical zoom seems to work really well. I am also a huge fan of that option. "Zoom" on other camera without 2 lenses is really just cropping and it destroys image quality as most people have experienced.

If you want great pictures on iPhones, use the HDR mode.
I shoot HDR with my regular digital cameras, in 5shot sequence. iPhone is only 3 but will make a difference

HDR is on by default which I hadn't realized at first. There is an option, that I toggled on, that also saves the non-HDR version of the photo you just took as well. This is great for comparing the HDR to the non-HDR photo and seeing which is best. HDR usually wins. The HDR on the iPhone seems really nice.

I really like this option because on my other phones I would take a photo and then enable HDR and take the same photo and then save the best version. The iPhone now does half the work for me which is pretty cool.

I'm still getting used to the "Live" photos feature that takes a few photos at the press of the button. The result looks like a movie or animated GIF, but it's really just a sequence of photos. You can then leave it as-is or select which of the photos you'd like to keep. I have not found a way to get Flickr to play well with Live photos. When I try to upload a Live photo it only uploads a low resolution, poor quality photo. And I can't seem to send Live photos to my dad who is on Android. I have to use the non Live version.
iCloud, of course, works with Live photos and apparently Tumbler does as well, but I don't want to switch to those services.

A different shoulder brace. The first one I bought was useless.
