Speaking of WTH, Tomorrow we are supposed to have a HIGH on -15° and a low of -29° with a "Real Feel" wind chill of around -41° or lower.....fawk this.........

The older I get, the more I hate cold, and I've never loved it to begin with. Worked outdoor for quite a few years before going back to school and figuring out what I wanted to do with my life. But that kind of cold, HELL NO!

I like cold, but not this cold. I had a lot of OT the last week plowing snow, so tomorrow and Thursday, I'm taking off work. Only reason to go to work over the next couple days will be if I get called in to salt.

We mix beet juice with the salt to help the salt cut at lower temps, and while it may not cut the ice at these extreme temps, it will still add traction.

The call center I work in is not going to be working, there had been some push from the regional offices that maybe we shoud be closed tomorrow and let warmer areas take the calls. At least it's closer to home than the HTU I worked for, with a "slower" drive for when I have to go in.

I have never seen snow or temperature's below 10 degree celcius. 10 months our temperature is between 22-34 degree celcius and rest might touch 10.

This year I might ride Leh Ladhak and other areas which get snow fall. For now I can only wonder what 0 degree and below feels like.

According to Accuweather, ambient near me in West Chicago around 11am was -22 with a windchill of -55. I poked my head out a window about 10:45am for a couple seconds and my beard felt like it was starting to freeze over.

Once you get into single digits Farenheit (-12 or lower C), it sucks.
