Could you get one with a shaft coming out of both ends?

You could have a shaft on each end that was long enough to travel the continent. Assembling the motor could take some time.

That's what I've been waiting for for a direct to diff setup using LCC axles.

By custom shaft, do you mean diameter? Either way, I'm sold on the output shaft on each end. As soon as things are wrapped up with ECC, I'll be placing an order.

yes, exactly. For people wanting direct drive to LCC axles a 5mm shaft that exits both sides would be helpful, yes?

That would be cool...would both shafts need to be supported tough? (aka a bearing in something that mounted to the skid)

Did you get me email john?...losikid@gmail.com...

Indeed it would, though there goes dig, but for a Sporty truck, that could work, maybe.

At 2000kv a 25 to 1 would be 888 rpm at the wheel, a 40 to 1 would be 555 rpm. A Tad slow maybe?

Yes, exactly. Basically I am ready minus the motor.

Don't need dig, as this isn't a comp crawler I am building.

No, just wondering...

Right now i'm running a 3500kv in my losi with a lcc tranny, I'm at like 70:1 and the speed is very nice on 2s, i have't tried 3s

I'd think a direct drive 2000kv motor will rip in a losi...unless theres torque issues.

You also can build a shafty with two little revolvers. Same weight as one monster revolver. Dig like a MOA but still a shafty. Maybe a moa eating shafty

So evidently a press fit and locktite doesn't always hold the stator on the bearing tube. Too much torque! Some testers are having issues with the stator moving. Not an issue for production at all, we always pin the stators after the locktite has been applied. But it IS an issue for some of the protos sent out! If you have an issue with your proto motor loosing sync, stop using it! The ones shipping out this week have all been pinned and locked. We can fix any that may have stators coming loose, no big deal.

So far testing is going very well, feedback is all very positive otherwise. I think some testers are less discriminate on startup resolution than I am I did find an issue where the sensors will output an ambiguous signal if the BEC voltage is too low and the servo gets into a bind. It makes the ESC kick into sensorless mode, if available. Or else sync is lost momentarily. Running 6v BECs should prevent this. The sensors go up to 30v anyway, so there is no risk of damaging that component with regular servo driving voltages.

My testing of the 2 turn "540" 14 mag motor is going very well too. Startup resolution is absolutely driveable, although still not quite as good as the CrawlMaster motors. The Stubby motors will have even better low end control because of the lower detent torque. Can't wait to put a pair in my AX10 and see if they are worthy of competition use! I'm not holding my breath on meeting the low end control needed for the top 1% of MOA competitors, but I will do my best to get the low end as smooth as possible anyway. I have no doubts this will be the ultimate motor for the weekend basher, LCC driver, and heavy rig builder! I'm having a blast with it in my Wraith!

I have a few low speed Vids taken now, I'll try to stitch them together tomorrow.

Like this:
TCB's Monster LOSI Shafty

Although not currently HH motors, I am certainly keeping a close eye on this thread and am very interested in the stubby versions for my dual motor rig.

Cheers,
Mike.

Interestingly enough the first dual motor shafty was back at NATS 2006 or 2007. He was running dual outrunners and worm gear axles if I recall correctly, all the mechanics custom made on his machine. Can't remember his name.
