Can anyone offer some input...

Just installed my Revolver in my wraith 56/14, unbelievably smooth startup and crawling capabilities, just absolutely no top-end. My 3 year-old could practically outrun it. From what I've read in previous review, this shouldn't be the case???

What settings are you running on your MMP, 3s?

Thanks for your time,

Ryan

You should have decent wheelspeed, but what motor are you comparing it to and what battery are you running?

Be sure you don't have the power limits set in the MMP, that you are getting solid red or green lights with full throttles, and run it in smart mode with 10 to 15 degrees of sensorless advance.

How does it compare on top end to a 13t crawl master?

Gear taller. . This motor crawls well with stupid tall gearing.

Also 4s works great with it.

I am giving out my secrets so I hope you guys appreciate it! LOL

The revolver s has a ton more crawling torque than a roc412. So the trick is to gear them tall to gain the wheelspeed. For competition I don't run a 4s just a three s because start up will always be better with a lower voltage.

Always check your heat of course. But i have only managed to get this motor hot on 6s. Otherwise it never gets hot. I have no doubt it would pull 30/80 gearing easy enough. But i have no need for that much speed.

You can switch to 32p gears.. 56/17 or 56/18 would build you the same gear ratio..

I'm running a 32P 56T RRP Spur so I'll order their 18T pinion a try. Any other combos worth trying?

I'll check my limits, lights, and add the timing, thank you John. I know I currently have it set a 0 timing as I thought that was recommended

holycaveman, this may be the motor I am looking for based on your above statement.

My stock axial setup is roughly 55:1, my other setup with a rc4wd disruptor tranny yields a 48:1 setup, the new setup I am trying to figure out is using the new rc4wd scale transmission which is only a 30:1 drive ratio- I have found the 30:1 ratio too fast for scale low speed crawling. However given the info you posted maybe I am ok, I just need the correct motor?

Yes. It should pull it no problemS. But if you have a 14lb truck then that may be different.

I'm considering replacing my Tekin redline 13.5t with one of these on a U4RC build. I am also running an AX2 transmission so I have a crawl gear and a high speed gear. Was running (and will likely continue running) 60/14 32P gearing on it. Any thoughts? Can this motor handle the high speed sections plus kick ass in the rocks?

You can't throw a motor in that has 1600 less kv's and not expect to change gearing.

The good news is if you get this motor you will no longer need a two speed.

I would gear this motor 60/20 on your u4 and run 4s. Now you will be doing something!

JRH, any chance of a combo deal with a Revolver S and an ESC on your site? Just seeing if I can save a few pennies.

Super newb question here but a friend of mine said my 1300 35c(CD) 60C (Burst) lipo pack has too small of a burst rate for the MMP/540 Revolver any truth to this, If so What should I Get?

You should be ok unless it's a really heavy rig and geared tall.

on the stubby I ran a 350 mah with a 5.5lb wraith. Batter got warm but not horrid.

What's your take on the 540 vs stubby? On heavy rig? Wheel speed and ta?
