Download and run the firmware. Keep just the USB part plugged to the pc and launch the firmware updater within novalink. After that hook the USB to the esc. That's how I got it to work. Took like 5 tries though.

Also be sure to extract the contents of the zip file you download to the Program Files/Novak Electronics/NovaLink folder, specifically look for the outloada13.rdd file to be updated. Once I made sure this file was in place it worked right off the bat following the same steps listed by Deezul It should look like this. Program Files/Novak Electronics/NovaLink/outloada13.rdd You won't be able to tune it through the Novalink software until they update that software, this update is only to flash the firmware in the ESC.

Hi Guys, Well, I have not had the good luck in "Making it work" that you have. Need to spend a bit more time double checking my firmware got installed correctly, and making sure this ESC is not somehow "damaged" from the several installs I've done with it. Will confirm things in the coming days. Thanks csuangka@teamnovak.com |

That's great news, can't wait for my Novalink to get here. How was the customers rig wired up? Was it a h.v. servo? Thanks for your work on this Charlie |

I pre-orderred the ESC from Tower, will the new firmware be implemented on the production ESCs? Will there be a serial number (like there was with the Rooster Crawler edition?) so that we know which numbers have the new firmware? Thanks in advance

Now you get it to work with a CC BEC after I got mine to work flawlessly with the Comon Sense RC BEC. Good thing I'm not using a High Voltage servo so I can wait for more bugs to be worked out. Isn't 330 oz/in strong enough anymore? |

It's unfortunate to have to deal with firmware updates at all. The problem wasn't really with "All" setups, so our initial testing showed to be very promising with no real issues. I Some shops will have various USB Update devices on hand for customers to use, so It's worth checking. A lot of the race tracks I've been to have a house computer for folks to use with the various USB devices as well. I don't think having an serial number reference will be a problem at all. If I was into conspiracies I wouldn't read the internet.... chev- He had his BEC directly to his Servo Only. The RX running from the internal BEC. I've seen the issue in both ways of wiring, and should have more trucks lined up for updates this week. Last edited by Charlie; 11-22-2010 at 09:31 PM. |
