Just got through running my servo for the first time, works great except, it makes a noise like it's trying to find center. It sounds like it is twitching left, right, etc. really fast. Not the buzzing noise Futaba digitals make when at rest (I can silence it by lifting the front end) but, a twitching noise. I am running a BEC set to 7.0v. It is wired like this. Anyone know if this is acceptable or is something wrong with it? All my trucks are wired like this and I have no problems with them. |

Mine makes the twitching sound too, I thought that was the noise that digital servos make?

This would help http://holmeshobbies.com/RXBypass.html but they're out of stock. I got to get some too. John, I need some rx bypass things but there not instock. Any chance that you could get some more. Last edited by lostonthetrails; 02-22-2014 at 09:53 AM. |

That's kind of my idea behind the y-harness except it's more compact and clean looking.Would love to see a bigger picture of that.Still kind of confused on the signal wire coming from the BEC.I've read so many different ideas and opinions on it all. Edit: I found this pic in this vendor thread.Same story though, sold out.At least it answers the one question I had about the BEC signal wire. Last edited by 62PYRO; 02-22-2014 at 11:07 AM. | |

My servo also does the buzzing at center, all I do is give the truck a short stab of throttle to get it settled. Could it stand to be a little sloppier in the middle? Probably, but I don't consider that to be a big enough of an issue to keep me from liking it like it is. The hullabaloo with the BEC signal wire probably started when somebody tried plugging their BEC into the bind port on their Spectrum receiver, and it went into bind mode. With a Bypass Adapter, I'm not sure the signal wire'd be critical as it'd be going into the steering channel, and I don't think that should send a receiver into bind. That said, when I make my adapters, I delete the signal wire, just as a matter of course. Still gotta make two more of these for the Slashes, SO not looking forward to it. Dragging my feet on that project big time. |

Anyone think that the 'twitching' sound is of no concern? Again, it's not the 'buzzing' noise you get from other digital servos, it sounds like it is actually moving left to right very quickly in very tiny increments.

Am I to assume that this uses Futaba servo horns?I bought a GH Racing one today and it had more slop than a $2 hooker. |

Yup. I pulled out a Futaba 3051, put in the new Holmes servo and re-used the horn. Fit pretty much exactly the same. (it's a Futaba horn, I don't have the p/n right offhand, sorry.) |

It's 25t spline for sure.. GH is normally pretty good. I went with a AHZ horn off the Bay and was pretty happy with the quality. Teeth go all the way in the horn too. Not like GH that only go half the depth.

Mine died today. About 45-60 minutes worth of use just playing around in the back yard. Haven't even tried rock crawling yet. Sending it back for a refund, not happy.
